Only sit seniors or medical cases

Pet care experience

I am only taking requests for those who have super senior dogs, those with medical needs or those needing special care. Please look for other sitters if you need care for young or active dogs (unless you have a Westie then perhaps you can sweet talk me into dog care). I recently said goodbye to my 17 year old dog. For months I could not leave him for more than 2 hours or travel without him. Because I loved him so much, I didn't mind the restrictions but want to help others in similar situations. Examples of dogs which I will sit: - Senior dogs with incontinence issues, vision issues, reduced hearing, pills, eye drops, etc - Younger dogs with health issues such as diabetes, epilepsy. Dogs must be well mannered without aggression issues. Owners are required to 1. Do perimeter check of the yard for security and provide guidance if their dog needs special security procedures. 2. Provide detailed instructions on dog's daily care. Label medications clearly with administration information. 3. Provide crate, potty pads, belly bands or such, if needed for incontinence. 4. Agree to daily check in phone calls or messages. If you need someone to watch your dog for just a few hours on a single day, contact me and I can adjust the dog daycare rate to accommodate a shorter period of time. If your dog is young, active or large, please contact other sitters as this house is not set up for such. This is a quiet, calm, structured house that works well for seniors. If you have a SMALL, young puppy we might consider care for a few hours or days.

Kristina was fantastic in caring for our older dog, Sasha. She's 14 and on a few medicines, and then also had surgery 2 days before our scheduled vacation. Kristina took great care of Sasha, updated us every day on her status, and made us feel comfortable enjoying our vacation after difficult circumstances. Thank you so much!

I boarded my dog Nikki with Katrina for 3 days and I could not be more pleased with my choice. Katrina kept me updated about Nikki by texts. and photos and I know I found the ideal person to take care of my senior girl when she cannot travel

Kristina was amazing with our senior Westie with some special needs. She made sure everyone was comfortable at drop off, gave plenty of updates with photos, and took great care of Tucker. She is clearly an experienced pet owner and sitter and we would definitely have Tucker stay with her again!

I traveled to visit a friend in Boise, I took my 13 year old westie. She was in fair health but had never been in a boarding kennel. My friend & I planned an overnite out of Boise that did not take dogs. My friend suggested Kristina. She cared for my westie for 3-days and 2-nights. I saw the care and concern to keep my girl on her feeding & potty schedule. I also saw how she was with 2 other elderly small dogs. One on daily medication. I will continue to use her services when I am in Boise.

Safety, trust & environment

If I am not at home, your dog will be gated in a room or crated (crate provided by you) depending on what they are accustomed to. If your dog is not able to walk on hardwood floors (slippery), additional rugs will be placed to make it easier for them. There are rugs both inside and outside doors to help older dogs navigate going in and out. Dogs are fed separately. Visiting dogs are kept separated from resident at the beginning until everyone adjusts then are allowed to meet face to face. Visiting dogs are not left along with resident dogs unattended.

Information Kristina G. would like to know about your pet

Please describe your dog's special needs to determine if my skills and previous experience match up with what your dog needs for care. I'm accustomed to well mannered, well trained dogs and prefer that yours has at least basic obedience skills. Older dogs given a lot of grace due to loss of sight and sound.

A typical day

Dogs enjoy daily "sniffaries" during leisurely strolls around the neighborhood. We have a wide selection of interactive toys from kongs, licky boards, snuffle mats, Nina Ottoson interactive toys and of course the ever favorite kibble sniffle in the back yard grass. There are a variety of dog beds for them to choose from while I'm working. We take short breaks in the back yard during the day.
