Home full time - Large Fenced Yard

Pet care experience

I know firsthand the importance of finding a good dog-sitter. My family relied for a long time on a traditional dog-boarding service, but then the service closed for good just as my family was preparing for a long vacation. So they chose a pet-sitter they said, and loved the level of care their dog received, including on how she was doing. More importantly, our furry little girl didn’t spend the whole day cooped up in a crate. Now that I own my own home and have no restrictions on what type of dogs I can keep, I want to provide that same level of comfort to other dogs and their owners. We have a steady flow of traffic in my house. I share my home with my sister, Melissa, who will occasionally help watch the dogs. My parents visit often with their 9-year-old golden retriever, Maggie. Also, my boyfriend will come around with his 4-year-old female German Shepherd, Schatzi. Our house may be busy, but the neighborhood is quiet and dog-friendly. There’s a park about a 10-minute walk from our house—the whole way there is safe and low-traffic. I also have a large, fenced-in yard that I’m about to expand, giving your dog even more room to run and play. Understanding how hard it is to leave your pup, I'll be sure to send as many status updates as you would like, including pictures. You can even FaceTime your dog! I love playing with dogs and believe they're just like children and need attention and affection. I work from home, so I will get to spend the entire day with your furry friend. I look forward to meeting them soon!

Kristin is an amazing dog sitter. We have used her many times, sometimes for a day or two, other times for a week or more. Our Golden loves going to Kristin's house. She gets so much attention and enjoys the walks. Any time we go out of town and can't take Maggie with us, we always take her to Kristin. It is so nice to have someone we can trust with our dog and know she is being treated like a princess.

Kristin is my sister/dog sitter by default. She was a huge relief to me when my pup was undergoing cancer treatments. He needed to have multiple medications throughout the day that weren't feasible for me to do while working. She would also take him for small walks throughout the day and send me updates whenever I asked (which was all the time). I was so lucky to have someone he loved so much be able to take care of him.

Information Kristin W. would like to know about your pet

I’m experienced with dogs who have separation-anxiety and food-aggression issues—if this sounds like your dog, let me know and we’ll work out how to best resolve those issues during their stay.

A typical day

Your dog and I will start the mornings off with a walk. After that, I’ll be working from home, but I’ll be sure your pup is occupied with a toy. I also keep a bed in my office in case they want company. I’ll let your dog out for potty and play breaks often so they don't get bored. Once I'm done with work, as long as the weather is nice, we’ll go on another walk or have play time in the backyard. Weekends will be more fun since I won’t have to work and will be home most of the time (other than quick errands.)
