All animals welcome!

Pet care experience

I work as a vet tech in a clinic so I'm constantly around pups! I have a dog of my own that will come with me on my jobs, but I am willing to negotiate that depending on certain factors. I love animals to death, and can give your dog all of my love and attention as long as you'll have me. I also don't mind other animals such as cats, exotics, reptiles and spiders. But fair warning, there's a big chance that I may get attached to your pet! My other job consists of anything from restraint to medication administration to venipuncture and everything in between. My practice is a mixed pet practice, so we also see exotics. I actually have 8 snakes and 12 spiders of my own. I've also had many dogs growing up from the time I was little. There's nothing better than putting a smile and droopy tongue on a pup's face! A happy pup is a very happy Kristin! My own dog will be coming with me on most if not all of my bookings. (if I am house sitting, I will not bring him upon request)

Kristin took great care of Theodore! She sent pics and a checkin text every day, and she was incredibly responsive if I had any questions. She left a “report card” at the end of the in-home stay, and I was delighted to read the lighthearted review. During the in-home stay, she took great care of our home.

First, I had a wonderful sitter and she was promoted with a new job and no longer had the flexibility to watch my boys. I knew she would be hard to replace since I'm picky and protective of my boys. I had to find someone that would love and care for them they way they deserve. I spoke with several sitters and chose Kristin. I'm very particular on keeping my boys on a schedule and having someone stay overnight. I could tell Kristin loved dogs. She interacted with them the whole time during our meet and greet and didn't mind them licking her and fighting for attention. I could tell she was a dog lover. She was patient with my texts while I was away. She sent me pics and updates. She asked that I leave a list so she didn't forget anything, which I always do anyway but appreciated her thinking of it as well. She worked around their eating and play schedule. At my request, she didn't mind coming back to the house on the last day to feed them dinner since I was coming back from vacation later than I thought. I would definitely ask Kristin to watch my boys again.

Ever since Kristin was born, she has had a special bond with animals. She loves them all very deeply and it shows. I would say that she treats every animal she encounters as if it was her own; however, that isn't quite accurate. She goes one step further...she treats them as equals. The only thing you would ever have to worry about would be how much she spoils your fur baby.

Excellent care, can definitely tell she has a passion for animals. They are her calling. She lets them love all over her and doesn't care about the slobber or getting dirty.

That would depend on the dog. For a low energy/drive pet, we could play when they want to or hang out on the couch and they get all the pets and attention, we can even cuddle. High energy/drive pets we would go on walks, play fetch, do some fun mental stimulation (with puzzles or interactive toys, etc), and perhaps do some training to tire their brain out. For certain breeds, physically tiring them out is not enough.

Information Kristin L. would like to know about your pet

If they are skittish, wary of certain things, protective of the home (or of you), etc. Basically anything that could pose a risk to mine or the dog's safety and well-being should be discussed prior to the meet and greet.

A typical day

We'll go for walks, play with toys (or not, I can play without toys if need be), give all the belly rubs and attention they could ever dream of, and just spend good quality time with your pup!

Pet care is part of my daily life and is a constant. My day job includes finding out why pets are not feeling well or routine things, and I take care of my own pets! But don't let that discourage you. I have plenty of time for your pup or kitty. I work 8-6 or 7 pm most days, but get an hour lunch and after work stay up for a few hours before I call it quits. So depending on how far away from my work you live, I can easily come on my lunch for a potty break!
