Hey there, I'm Kristin! I am a person with a passion for all animals, and I have been a pet owner my entire life, including: cats, dogs, birds, and horses. I currently have two dogs, two cats, and two horses. I began using Rover as a client in 2017 to find care for my Siberian Husky, Abby, while I was away. In doing so, I fell in love with the Rover community and loved meeting new animal-loving people like myself. Now that I have more time in my schedule, I use my free time to return the favor because I know exactly how it feels to be you! I am a meticulous pet owner (I'm the one that leaves pages of notes!), and I would provide nothing less than my own standards of care for your pup(s). I had my Siberian Husky, Abby, for all 15 years of her life. I completed many years of obedience and agility training with her. I now have Hazel, a 1-year-old Dalmatian, and Flynn, a ragdoll cat. I have volunteered for a local animal rescue for several years and have fostered five dogs (so far!) before sending them to their forever homes. I have been an equestrian for over 20 years and have a degree in Equestrian Studies, which encompasses animal care and behavior training. In addition to my degree, I have 8 years of experience as a dog trainer in the sport of drag foxhunting ("drag" means that a fake scent is used, no animals are harmed). This involves ensuring the performance and safety of both equines and canines. I strongly believe I am one of the best people you can choose to care for your pup(s) while you're away, and I hope to have the opportunity to get to know them and you!
