My love for dogs began early. My aunt has been breeding terriers since before I was born, and I loved spending time with all of them - brand new puppies, mommas, poppas, and the delicate old lady who kept hanging on. My family got a dog as soon as I was responsible enough to care for one, and I named her Rosie. She was a border collie mix with black fur and a white blaze and socks. We loved her to pieces, even when she developed epilepsy later in life. I can remember sitting outside with her while she was having a seizure, stroking her fur to comfort her and let her know she wasn't alone. As an adult, I've adopted a rescue from the SPCA, a brindle pitbull named Rocket. She had more energy and could jump higher than you'd even believe. She kept me company and I took her to the dog park every day so she could run. I would love to have a dog again, but my life circumstances aren't the best for it. Instead, I want to becomes friends with and take care of your dog while you're away at work, and send her back to you each night. I think we'd all end up a little happier that way.
