Flexible mornings, great with dogs!

Pet care experience

I’ve yet to meet a dog (or a cat) I don’t love! I will always get down for skritches and try to befriend any happy pup that comes around my block or into my shop. I grew up with dogs (GSD, beagles, and black labs) and fostered a pitbull puppy as an adult (including training and housebreaking; socializing her around animals like cats, dogs, and chickens; and successfully rehoming her). I have training in animal first aid, including looking for symptoms of hyperthermia, treating pad burns, GI distress, hydrogen peroxide regurgitation to retrieve inappropriate or harmful eaten items (like chocolate or toys), and more. During the holidays, I make tasty treats from scratch at home for our fur babies like pumpkin cookies and peanut butter balls (without xylitol) — who says humans should get all the fun stuff?? I know a few good recipes for pups who need a tummy reset too. I always travel with a tennis ball and a flinger in my car, as well as an emergency leash for any wayward pups who need a quick rescue. My favorite dog parks in Raleigh are Oakwood and Milbrook Exchange. I can’t wait to meet your dog and give him or her some great skritches and go for a good, long walk! I'm also down to check on your purr babies at home too. Cats need skritches, playtime and treats too! I currently have two cats of my own and used to have a dog. My black lab baby, seen in several of my photos, now lives with her daddy following our split.

Kristin was a great help walking Penny while we were away. She arrived timely and sent great pictures and descriptions each day. She also spent a little extra time with Penny beyond just the walk, going above and beyond to make sure Penny was comfortable while we were away. We would definitely use Kristin again!

Kristin is the best! Great communication and a genuine love of animals. Bear absolutely adores Kristin and is always more at ease on days when she walks him.

Kristin was wonderful! She took my dog on a nice walk and sent a thoughtful note about their time together. Highly recommend!

Five+ stars! Wonderful sitter for my lab mix, Charlie! Detailed updates. Kristen stayed longer than I expected to play with him, which was awesome. She also kept an eye out for the house and brought packages in while we were away. Kristen will be my go-to first pick next time I need a sitter.

Information Kristin E. would like to know about your pet

I have a lot, so be ready! Are there any training or habits I need to encourage or discourage? (No jumping, furniture privileges, shake or sit before meal time or treats, ring a bell to go outside, etc.) How snuggly are they? Are they a lap dog or do they like personal space? What's their favorite toy? What's their favorite treat? If they have oral medicine that I need to administer, do they have a special treat that I can hide it in, or do I just pop it right in their mouth? (I can do either, I'm experienced with both.) In case of a bathroom accident, where are the cleaning supplies? What are some trouble areas around your house or yard that they like getting into that I need to be aware of (for example, the kitchen or bathroom garbage)? Who is your preferred vet? Who is the CLOSEST preferred vet in case of an emergency? Are there any neighborhoods you like walking in the most, and are there any neighborhoods you'd like me to avoid on our walks? Are there any rooms in your house that I need to make sure they stay out of for any reason at all? Where do you keep the doggy bags for our walks, and when they poop in your yard, how would you like me to clean up after them? What is your preferred visit length, and what would you like us to do during my visit? Do you have any other pets that you'd like me to check in on during my visit? No breed preference! There are no bad breeds, only misunderstood pups!

A typical day

Let's go for a ride to the dog park! Who's up for some off-leash (but completely safe and fenced-in) fun time ball chase time?? I've got my flinger, you've got some legs for runnin', let's go burn off that energy and chase a ball and crunch some leaves and say hello to some other pups!
