Pet care experience
I'd love to accommodate your dog(s) for an overnight stay or daycare! I live in a decent-sized 2 bedroom apartment, however I have a 200 square foot fenced patio that is great for small dog shenanigans. The neighborhood is quiet and dog-friendly with lots of low-traffic streets for walking. My home (and my 3 dogs) are best suited to small/medium dogs, up to 40 pounds or so. There's some wiggle room there, but my pups don't do so well with the big guys. I look forward to sharing my humble dog hotel with your hound(s)! I've got nearly 25 years of pet care experience under my belt...I've walked, brushed, medicated, given sub-q fluids, played and snuggled with, and cleaned up after many cats and dogs with a variety of personalities. NOTE: My calendar is updated regularly. Please check my availability before making a request. Thank you! Why I love dog sitting I've loved dogs my whole life. I had my first dog, a miniature schnauzer, from ages 3 to 18. She was loving, loyal, and despite her tiny size, fiercely protective. Since then, I've rarely met a dog I didn't like, and who didn't like me. I've got a great deal of experience administering pills, liquid medications, injections, and providing subcutaneous fluids to both dogs and cats, as well as caring for senior pets.

Kristin was an awesome host for Wrigley. From the moment we had the meet and greet, she was not afraid to take on more than she can chew in terms of a dog's personality and size. I was impressed by the way she took the time to get to know the dog and listen to my list of "quirks" that he has. While I was away, Kristin would send me updates and was always available for me to check-in. She was accommodating with the drop off and pick up schedule too. I loved how she embraced all the dogs, wasn't afraid of a little mess that they might make and made sure her own dogs were comfortable with the potential house guests.
Kristin took excellent care of my golden retriever over a long weekend. She sent me pictures and texts every day, assuring me that he was having a wonderful time. It's hard to leave my fur baby, but because I knew he was receiving loving care, I was able to enjoy my trip. She is reliable and conscientious, and truly loves animals. I highly recommend her for any pet sitting needs.

I'd like to learn about his or her personality...fears, likes/dislikes, behavior patterns, etc. Dogs often push the boundaries with new caregivers, so prohibited behaviors and places are good to know. Any medical issues or concerns are, of course, vital. I like to get very specific instructions on feeding...amounts, times, and treats. I want your dog's daily routine to be as normal as possible while you're away, so I'll have a lot of questions. One key question...is your dog up-to-date on vaccinations? This is a must for dogs staying in my home.
A typical day
We love to take walks around the neighborhood, and we play in the yard as much as possible when the weather permits. PLEASE NOTE: Any dog I board must be leash trained. I don't expect perfect behavior, however reasonable leash skills are required. Thanks! Your dog's sleeping arrangement My dogs sleep in the bed, and your dog is welcome to as well. I also have two comfy dog beds for their use. Time I'll spend with your dog I work from home at least 60% of the time, and when I board dogs, it's more like 90%. Your dog(s) will have company most of the time when they're with me. Time I'll spend with your dog I prefer to give a dog as much attention as he or she is used to, or more. 8-12 hours per day is average, if an overnight is included. I'm flexible...please let me know what your preferences are. Extra house-sitting services Absolutely. Please feel free to ask.
