I’ve raised dogs, that have been considered & adored as genuine family members, all my life;) I’ve rescued several cats & kittens over the years, but tended to have dogs that I feared would never fully accept one permanently in my home. I raised two full grown Weimaraners (together), which was a handful, & the most wonderful years of my life. I lost my female a couple years ago when she was 13 & very recently lost my 17 year old male who was the most intelligent, loyal, best friend I could ever have asked for. I miss him dearly and would very much like to care for other pets to help me curb that loss of a dear friend and companion. I’m in no way ready to search for a new pet of my own, but would like to enjoy caring for others in need. My fenced in backyard is pretty large and it would be a joy to see it used for a good purpose again.
