Pet care experience

I have over 7 years of experience taking care of dogs. I have worked for a boarding and daycare facility in the past as a Kennel Assistant Lead. I'm experienced giving medication, Injections, handling senior dogs, and handling aggressive dogs. While at my house, I try to let the dogs have a PAW-TASTIC time. I love dogs and I want to give them the best care possible. They deserve a vacation away from home and to have some fun. They will go home happy, healthy, and tired.

Always the best experience with Kristien and her family. They make Remi seem like she is one of the family members. Remi loves Kristien and we love her!

Safety, trust & environment

I have 2 dogs. One is a 5 year old male German Shepherd Mix named Max (fixed) and the other is a 8 month old female Golden Retriever puppy named Megan (not fixed). I spoil my pups like they are one of my kids. I would love to spoil your pups too. We have a lot of toys, puzzles, and treats. During puzzles and feedings, I separate all dogs. If your pups have a sensitive stomach and you would like me to use their treats only, please send the treats with them. I will also keep you informed if the pup has runny or wet 💩 and how it progresses throughout the day.

Information Kristien B. would like to know about your pet

Are they up to date on vaccines? Do they require medication, or any special needs? Are they dog friendly? Are they kid friendly? (We have a 10 and 13 year old) Are they allowed on furniture? (We allow our dog on furniture, but will respect your wishes) Do they have any additional restrictions, rules, or concerns? Do they show any aggression when it comes to toys and food? Do they pull on the leash? If anything should happen by accident (like any other daycare or boarding facility): Do you have an emergency contact? Who is your vet? If your vet is too far, can I take them to the Knightdale Animal Hospital?

A typical day

Our day usually starts bright and early around 6am. I take the dogs out for a potty break so they can stretch and wake up. Then they are served their morning food and water. After that we take time to digest. This is when dogs start arriving for daycare and the playtime begins. I let the dogs decide how much energy they want to use during this time. I’m cautious to not push dogs to do something they are uncomfortable with or outside of their regular routine. I take pictures during this time to share with you! Around Noon they are served lunch, and then we go for a 15-to-30-minute walk depending on the dog's energy level. The rest of the day is spent with cuddle times, puzzles, frozen treats, brushings, more playtimes, and then another 15-to-30-minute walk around 5:30pm. As the day winds down they are given dinner, and we spend the rest of the day calming down with light play and more pictures. Finally, around 9pm they are taken out for a final potty break before bedtime. Each dog will have their own bed space, and do not sleep in a room alone. I have 3 dog beds if they prefer to sleep on one of them. Or they can sleep in bed with me or my kids in our bedrooms. You’re welcome to bring anything to help your dog be more comfortable. If you crate train your dog during the nights, I can do that for you as well.

Availability

I'm available everyday. However, M-F I have to pick my kids up from school but my husband works from home and will care for the dogs during that time. After school, my boys love to help with the dogs. They even help me during walks. Generally, your dogs will be taken outside every hour. They will also be taken on a walk for at least 15-30 minutes a day, maybe twice a day. We will walk longer if the weather is nice and the dog has extra energy. We usually feed breakfast around 6-7 am, Lunch around 12-1pm, and dinner around 6-7pm. If you have any other times for feeding, I’d be glad to follow your timeline. I try to keep all dogs on their normal routine.
