A nurturing home for your dog
Pet care experience
A stay with me isn't about someone looking after your dog while you're gone, it's about everything it takes to maintain a happy and healthy pet. Your companion will be spending time in a warm, spacious and inviting environment accompanied with long walks and extensive time at the park to socialize with other dogs while they enjoy some nice weather. Your pet's stay will be centered around and solely focused on their needs. I've had my own dog going on four years now and I helped my parents care for their own dogs. Additionally, we routinely fostered abandoned shelter dogs until they were healthy enough to be adopted. In my spare time, I volunteered at animal shelters in Texas. I take care of Bunny as if he were my child and would treat your dog just as well, if not better.

Absolutely horrible. Threatened to hold my keys hostage and I come home and 5 days worth of dog poop is piled in my toilet.
Kristie is fantastic! Yousuke has had some bad experiences with sitters and doggy daycares in the past, so it takes time for him to get comfortable in a new space and trust new people when I'm not around. Not only was Kristie amazingly patient and understanding of his behavior, she provided me with timely updates and was very attentive to Yousuke's specific needs. This isn't even mentioning that his stay with her was a last minute request that she was able to swiftly accommodate! I'm so glad that I've been able to find a sitter as outstanding as Kristie is. :)
Kristie was great with Sparkles! Sparkles loves to be outdoors so Kristie took her on a 3-hour walk. Sparkles came back happy and it was comforting to know she was in good hands!
We were looking for a dogsitter for our 6 month old puppy and someone told us about rover.com. Kristie was available on short notice over the 4th of July holiday and had a 5 star rating. She was quick to respond to my request and we took our puppy over to meet her dog. The meeting went fine, though Kristie seemed hesitant to leave our puppy in her crate (at night and when Kristie left the house) even though we explained that she is being crate trained and needs the consistency for house training and to prevent her from getting into things she shouldn't. I sent her a link about crate training and reassured her that it is a safe and healthy way to train puppies. She then agreed to keep her in the crate at the appropriate times. We were out of cellphone range for most of the weekend so we left an emergency contact # and our vet's name as well as a typical schedule for our puppy. When we got back, Kristie told us everything went well but as we talked to her more, she told us that our puppy had bad diarrhea, vomited, and had blood in her stool. She didn't call our contact or the vet. She said it was due to the wet food we were giving her which was recommended because it is mild. Our puppy has never had these problems before from her food. We also noticed Kristie's dog was shaved on her back and apparently her dog was bitten by another dog and the bite had become infected. When we got in the car with her crate, we noticed there was dog poop in her dog bed as well as on the sides and bottom of the crate. Kristie did not inform us of this and it got on our car seat as well. This is peculiar as our puppy has never pooped in her crate before. I asked Kristie if she kept her in there and she said yes and that our puppy had such bad diarrhea that she didn't get her cleaned up in time and she got it on the bed. However, there was a lot in there and why wouldn't you clean it up so the dog doesn't have to sit in it? She also said that she was going in the house on puppy pads. Our dog has been house trained (which I had explained) and has not gone inside for well over a month. She said this was because of the diarrhea. If it was that bad, though, why wouldn't she have called our local friend or the vet? Diarrhea can be very serious for young dogs. Overall, I found she lacked some basic knowledge about puppy training and did not even cover the basics of dog care. I was very disappointed with the experience.
