I have been an avid animal lover and caretaker since I was a child. I have 5 years of professional experience in the animal care field as well as assisting in veterinary care. I'm able to administer oral and injectable medications. I have always been the "go-to" person to care for friend's and family's pets in many aspects, from pet sitting down to basic nail trims. ***REGARDING THE CURRENT CANINE RESPIRATORY VIRUS*** Thankfully I have quite a few years of experience dealing with canine contagions from when I worked in shelter medicine. Before dogs come for boarding, I request that they do not have any contact with other dogs outside of their home and to not bring them to high-risk places like the dog park, groomer, Petco, for 3 days leading up to the boarding. When they get here I have them sectioned off in their own area of the house for 24 hours so I can observe them for any symptoms. After observation they can join the "general population". If owners prefer that their dog stays isolated from others during the entire time of boarding, then I will keep them in their sectioned off part of the house and yard. I use REScue veterinary disinfectant all over the house (I have even put it in my robot mops). For outside I spray bleach water at the ratio that kills parvo and also disinfect the hard toys with the bleach water solution. For laundry and soft toys, I use Lysol laundry sanitizer and run them on my sanitize cycle in my washing machine. I have air purifiers with UV lights in each sectioned area of the house. The house can be sectioned into 3 areas: the back section (dining room area) with access to the back yard, the middle section (kitchen/ living room area) with access to the side yard, and the front section (foyer/ family room area) with access to the front yard.
