I work full time during the day but am usually around all night. My cat is the only one at home during the day and she spends most of it sleeping or looking out the window. If your dog is fully house trained and doesn’t (usually) have accidents inside or like chewing non-toy items then they are welcome to the entire house while I’m gone! (or can be crated if they feel more comfortable that way) cats are free to have the run of the house. I’m off on Wednesdays so I spend most of that day doing chores around my house. Most weekends I spend a good majority of my time at home. Your dog or cat is welcome to sleep with me at night if they want! But I’ll do whatever they are used to/comfortable with (if they are used to a crate at night, just bring it along with their other things)
