Pet care from a Vet Tech

Pet care experience

20% off for first-time clients. See code below. KRISTC74839, https://www.rover.com/sit/kristc74839 I have been caring for pets for 25 years. I started pet sitting for family and friends while I obtained my degree at the University of Idaho. I continued pet sitting and dog walking after moving to Boise 16 years ago. I worked for Healthy Hounds of Boise as a dog walker and pet sitter for all types of pets while completing an additional degree in Veterinary Technology in 2012. After graduating, I worked in the ER at West Vet, as well as at several veterinary day practice clinics. I can give medications both orally and subcutaneously. I have experience walking dogs of all shapes and sizes. I love dogs, cats, and all types of pets. Your pet’s safety and happiness are my number one priority.

Kristi was a wonderful companion for our older dog, Benson, while we were gone on a trip for 7 days! We rarely leave our dog and this was the longest we were without him, and it felt so great to know he was well taken cared of and we received so many great photos of him happy. We will definitely be booking Kristi for our next trip, and her incredibly quick communication was so helpful and professional.

Kristi was GREAT! Followed our instructions to a T and always updated us with pics of our two senior dogs every visit. We used her for a 6-day trip away and we would absolutely use her again! Thank you, Kristi!

Kristi was easy to communicate with prior to booking and prior to her stay housesitting. During her stay, Kristi's updates provided just the right amount of information letting us know our dogs were being well cared for. Everybody seemed happy and well when we came home!

Kristi was able to help us with a last minute request. As always, Kristi was reliable and gave great care to our pup. Thank you Kristi for being there for us!

Safety, trust & environment

I provide the best care possible for my client’s pets and treat them like I would my pets. As a former veterinary nurse, I have experience with medical issues. I’m able to recognize illnesses in pets and am willing to get medical care for your pet if needed. My safety around your pets is important as well. I like to meet with your pets before booking to make sure it’s a good fit. If it is not a good fit, I hand the right to decline services. 🚨NOTE: If your home is in the market and actively listed with showings scheduled while you are requesting my services, I would prefer not to care for your animals during that time. Please look for another sitter or schedule listings for when you are in town. My job description includes the care, safety, and overall well-being of your pets, as well as your home and property. It does not include the staging of your home for sale, as this creates a conflict by putting the potential sale of your home on my shoulders and also creates a potential safety issue by exposing me to strangers. IF you are looking for someone to take your pets on a walk or a run as a drop-in visit while your home is being shown, I am willing to do that. Thank you in advance for your understanding of this preference.

Information Kristi C. would like to know about your pet

I don't have a breed preference, I like them all! I would like to know about the dog’s behaviors and personality. I will need to know if your dog(s) is dog aggressive, so we can discuss how to avoid possible aggressive interactions on our walk. **I do not provide dog walking services for overly aggressive dogs. I’m willing to work with very mild aggression, but cannot provide training for overly aggressive dogs, as I am not a dog trainer. I mean no disrespect to you or your dog(s), but I am more concerned with the safety of your dog as well as other people's dogs. Aggressive behavior is best left to a certified dog trainer.

A typical day

I'm a very active person. We can go on walks wherever your dog has the most fun. I’m willing to go on trail walks, Greenbelt walks, dog park visits (if OK’d by owner), or just in the neighborhood. If your dog loves to play fetch or frisbee, I’d love to play. I think I enjoy fetch as much as the pups do!
