I am not one to write negative reviews, but we had an experience with Kristen that I believe should be shared. We booked Kristen for a 3-night stay, and I asked her to leave after the first night (on Christmas). Ultimately, we received a full refund from Rover. I had Kristen come over before we left for our trip to meet our two dogs and make sure she was comfortable. She said she was comfortable, and both of the dogs would be in great care. I thanked her in advance for watching them, especially on the holiday, and left her three pages of instructions with any and all information she might need for the house and the dogs, including feeding, walking, sleeping, and more. I received texts and photos from Kristen where she was very nice and said the dogs were doing great. We have a one-year-old Rottweiler mix and a two-year-old Doberman mix. She texted me on Christmas after the first night and mentioned our Doberman does not like to go outside - this was a red flag to me because both of our dogs LOVE walks (multiple a day by us) and love to be outside. I mentioned they can get a bit rowdy, so they may need to be walked individually if she feels more comfortable. She acknowledged this and said, "No problem." When she was over, she actually asked about our Ring camera in our living room. I told her that it was there, as we like to make sure the dogs are walked and fed. That text message from her prompted me to look at our Ring camera. I saw the dogs had not been walked once, and our Doberman had not been outside at all. My Doberman was pawing at her to go outside, and she pushed her away and off the couch. I decided to listen to the video with audio, and she was on Facetime saying terrible things about our home, our dogs, and myself. She said she typically likes dogs and animals, but she does not like ours. She said they were annoying, terrible dogs, but was texting us kind things. She said how I told her the dogs can pull on a walk, "so why would she ever walk them?". We have two large breed dogs, who are both under 3 years old and are high-energy breeds. She was aware of this and knew that dogs, especially this size, need exercise. She was also upset that I did not personally thank her for it being a holiday when I did thank her in person upfront and also texted her Merry Christmas; regardless, it is a job, not a friendship, and she was being more than adequately paid with a holiday rate. Based on the texts and photos she was sending us, we would have thought they were in great care. I am glad I checked the videos. We asked her to leave that day, and had to coordinate care in the area for the remainder of our trip on Christmas. We ended up getting a full refund for the entire stay from Rover after they reviewed the messages and videos, and they asked us to leave a review in full detail.

Kristen was a great cat sitter for Pickles. She respected our home and was communicative throughout our time away which was so appreciated! Would definitely recommend her for your cat babies 🐾
