Your Pets Deserve a Vacation too!

Pet care experience

Understanding of animal behavior(s) Experience in the veterinary field Comfortable giving injections or pilling dogs or cats. Obtained Certification in Dog Obedience through Animal Behavior College in 2010. About this sitter: I own several dogs myself and I know how stressful it can be on you and your pets when you go out of town. If you're going on a vacation, your pets should too! I would like to offer my services as a pet sitter at your house. I have experience in the veterinary field so I know how to give injections and how to pill cats and dogs. I have studied Dog Obedience as a personal passion. I was also on the board of Alaska Shepherd Rescue, a 501c3 nonprofit. The majority of pet sitting I have done has been for family and neighbors while growing up, I treat every pet as I would my own, with lots of love. I can easily recognize when an animal is in distress and I have many ways to help alleviate the stress. I'm a very big believer in the fact that you have to be calm and confident with dogs for them to listen to you. I hope that if you need a sitter you will contact me! Understanding of animal behavior(s) Experience in the veterinary field Comfortable giving injections or pilling dogs or cats. Obtained Certification in Dog Obedience through Animal Behavior College Former Board Member of Alaska Shepherd Rescue, 501c3 Nonprofit Why I love dog sitting: I have been a dog lover since day 1. My grandmother use to breed German Shepherds, so GSD were my first exposure to dogs. Growing up we had a cat and a dog both of which I loved very very much. Once I grew up and moved out of the house I got my first real job at a veterinary hospital in San Diego, where I adopted a US Customs and Border Patrol drug dog named Bruno (Belgian Malinois) who was slowly dying of renal failure. My goal was to give him the best couple months of his life that I possibly could. After Bruno's passing, I was beside myself. In April 2009 I brought home my Shiba Inu Mango who has been with me ever since, he has been a challenge to train, but I love every second of it. Since then I ran a dog rescue in Anchorage, Alaska that focused mainly on German Shepherds and Belgian Malinois.

We were very satisfied the the care Kristen provided for our two dogs which we were away for the weekend. She was willing to assistance with last minute notice and provided pictures of our pets while we were away. We recommend her and plan to use her again in the future.
