Master’s student who loves animals!
Pet care experience
I’ve had animals of all kinds (reptiles, ferrets, dogs, cats, fish, birds, etc.) since I was a kid. Throughout my 20+ years of life I’ve gained many skills in caring for animals and am comfortable caring for all kinds of critters. I’ve watched animals for friends and family throughout the years and understand the importance of household respect and ensuring the animals are safe and happy! I’m am also comfortable with bathing and cutting nails, as long as the animal is not aggressive with these activities.
Reviews
Great care for Penny. I think she misses Ivy.
Kristen took great care of our dog, sent lots of pictures and updates. We knew he was in good care. Would definitely book again
We were so thankful to Kristen for scheduling a drop-in visit on very short notice. She checked in with us and sent great photos letting us know our doggies were well cared for. We will definitely reach out to Kristen in the future for pet sitting needs.
We're grateful for how attentive, reliable, and trustworthy Kristen is in all respects! Thank you, Kristen!

I am extremely adamant about giving thorough updates and following your instructions and needs to a T. I will go above and beyond for your beloved animals. I take caring for animals very seriously it is not just a job to me. They are living, breathing beings and while they are in my care their needs and comforts come first! Being an animal and having your owner leave and not knowing what’s going on is stressful and I know from experience that leaving your animals can also be stressful. This is why I am very diligent about making sure your animals are comfortable with me and that you feel they are safe as well. I always double check locks, latches, harness clips etc. to ensure the animals (and households) safety! I’ve had fence jumpers and table surfers so I am understanding of these behaviors and how to handle them.

Information Kristen C. would like to know about your pet
If your dog has any special needs or allergies, please let me know! I am willing to work with more challenging dogs with some direction, and have experience caring for elderly animals and administering oral medication. I am not trained in administering injected medication, but if this is something you need, I would be happy and comfortable to learn from you. I am not certified in CPR but, I have watched many videos on this and have gotten tips from vets and am comfortable using techniques I’ve seen and heard if an emergency arises.
A typical day
I love to take hikes through the forest because it’s beautiful and the hills and terrain create a well rounded exercise for dogs. I love playing fetch with dogs and think it’s a great way to get exercise in and helps form mutual trust between me and your dog. I love to walk with my dog Ivy Bug and am happy to bring your pup with us but I understand not all dogs are good with social and am happy to take them alone too. I’m comfortable bringing dogs to off leash areas if you wish for that, as long as they are well mannered and listen well. I would first do a trial run with leash on to make sure your dog is comfortable hearing my voice and understands that I am the one to listen to for the day!

Availability
I have some time during every day of the week to walk, feed, and play with dogs and cats (or another kind of critter). On the weekends I have extra time for multiple check ins and walks. I’m currently unavailable for recurring walks and extended drop ins (longer than a week), but I can take one time walks and up to a week of drop in visits.
