Pet care experience
I grew up with three dogs in the family. As a child, I used to spend days outside with the dogs. We had a german shepherd, a miniature poodle and a mini terrier. As an adult, I've spent many years caring for cats. I'm a breeder of cats now, but I only have two litters per year. So I have time to take care of your small dog or cat. I've boarded and done day care for dogs of different sizes before. But I mostly take care of small pets, because my cats are just too scared of larger dogs. So they'll hide, if the dog is too large. But they enjoy being part of pet care, to be around pets like themselves. I've also done some dog walking. In summer I went on long walks to a park with ponds. In winter, I did shorter walks around home.

I'd like to know the dog's preferences as to places to sleep, kinds of walks to take, and how much socializing to do. I also like to know what makes the dog feel at home. I don't really have breed preferences. Any kind of dog will be nice to spend time with. As to the below regarding first aid and cpr, I do know some pet first aid and cpr, from having studied it. But I'm not really experienced with it.
A typical day
The dog or dogs and I will walk in the yard area of about 1.5 acres. There's a front and back yard and porch, as well as a woods area in back of the yard. In back of it is a conservation type area. There are neighbors around me, but I'm at the end of a private road. I like to have fun with the dog. I have a small kiddie pool for splashing around in the summer. I like to take walks at the beach, so I can bring your dog along to beaches that accept dogs. I'm somewhat athletic, so I like long walks, especially in nice weather. I have a car to take the dog to a beach or pet store, as well as to the vet if ever needed. For cats, while I live near the beach, I'm not right on one. So it's not so scary for a cat to look out the window. In winter I have a gas fireplace to help keep the pets a little warmer. I have a house with central air and gas heat. It's got three bedrooms and three baths. I've got hardwood flooring to avoid messes on carpet. I like to make pets comfortable in the house. They have the mess resistant faux leather sofas and the beds to sit or sleep on. The house has enough room to be comfortable for them. I have a lot of time now to spend with the dog or cat. So there's no worry about me not being there. Most of the time, I'm there for the pet. I have to go out sometimes, but not that often. In terms of feeding and water, I make sure there's water out. There's also usually dry food out all the time. I make sure food and water are accessible to each pet. There's wet food at meal times. I listen to the pet parent's preferences about particular meals. There are treats, when needed and sometimes when desired. There are also usually some extra pet toys around the house and yard, that are safe enough for pets.
