Hello, Growing up on a small cattle ranch in Idaho, I have been around dogs and animals my whole life. I have always had a deep love and connection with dogs and horses, and all wild fauna in general. I received my degree in wildlife biology and have been working professionally in wildlife research for over a decade, giving me a strong background in studying a variety of animal behavior and communication, from beluga whales to birds. I have also worked for a winter running sled dogs for a musher in North Pole Alaska, and I quickly fell in love with all the dogs in the kennel and their own individual personalities. For the entire winter, my life was sled dogs. I provided all the care, feeding, and daily exercise to the entire dog kennel, consisting of 46 dogs total. Lastly, I have worked as a vet tech assistant, and have experience working with and administering medication to pets on a professional level. My own little girl, Granite (a rescued pit-bull mix), has now passed away. She lived until she was 14 years old and was blind for just over 6 years of her life. I became her “seeing eye person” and through a lot of patience and love, she was able to learn new commands and still go back-country skiing with me, hike, and bike alongside me with a leash – she was an amazing dog! Over the years since, through my partners and friends, I have still been able to enjoy dogs in my life. I have also dog-sat for many friends over the years. In addition to training my own dogs, I highly enjoy training and teaching dogs new things.
