Vet Tech & Supreme Dog Lover!

Pet care experience

I feel that all dogs deserve a life of adventure in return for the unconditional love they give us, so I’m here to give them the time of their lives while they’re away from their owners! My greatest joy comes from being surrounded by furry critters and giving them the love and affection they need to thrive. I love seeing a happy and healthy dog enjoy their life, which is why I became a vet tech as well! I’ve led a life helping animals out in various capacities for over a decade now, so becoming a sitter is just all part of my plan to make every puppy on earth happy! My main focus has been providing care to pets with special medical needs, such as diabetics, blindness, and paralysis for example. I feel that my skills with dogs make a greater impact on the dog community on an individual level. My medical skills allow me to provide excellent attentive care, and I’m prepared for the best, the worst, and everything in between. I will make sure your pets medical needs are met, their bellies scratched, and tails kept wagging! I graduated from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2015 with my bachelor’s in biology/pre-veterinary sciences and have been working as a veterinary technician for the last 3 years. I have 2 dogs and 2 cats, and have fostered both cats and dogs before they went to their forever homes. I have also volunteered at a dog training facility, and even worked at a bird rescue for 3 years! I love birds because they have been around for millions of years and are basically evolved dinosaurs. They have personalities just like dogs do, and they come in so many different species. They fly! I would be more than willing to care for birds and reptiles if you have them. I like to do meet and greets either in a neutral location or in the dog’s home so they know that I’m a welcome guest. We like to preferably start outside the home, so then we can enter together and they can see me walk in with their owner. I always like to ask tons of questions about your pup’s needs and your expectations for the stay so we can make sure that we’re on the same page with absolutely everything. I am great with large breeds, as I am a Doberman owner. I love all breeds of dogs, but large breeds have a special place in my heart. During a stay, I’ll always do my best to make both my human and canine clients as happy as can be. I will provide timely and frequent updates so you can see just how your pupperoni is doing and get a glimpse into what we’ve done during the day. I’ll pay special attention to your pup’s health and behavior and report back with any information that you request. For my new canine companions, I provide lots of lots and kisses and rubs, treats within dietary restrictions and lots of playtime and attention. I have a flexible schedule which is also helpful for anyone who has a tricky schedule or unorthodox hours.

Koren R. has been my pet sitter for the past 4 yrs. Koren is extremely responsible, reliable and has a true love of animals. Her compassionate nature makes her ideal for caring of animals. I would say it is her passion. I travel extensively and always feel secure knowing Koren is caring for our Greyhound. I would highly recommend her.

Koren is very compassionate and loving with pets. She sends updates and pictures without having to request it! She has her own large breed and small breed dog so she's experienced all around. She also can administer any medicine needed. I'd rate her 5 stars out of 5 ?

Koren is very experienced with dogs, and has excellent customer service. She has watched my dog over the weekend on many occasions. Her caring and patient nature is reflected in her relationship with her own dog, Marvin. She treats every pup as her own, and is more than just a supervisor--the attention and care she provides makes for the equivalent of a doggy spa day.

Koren is one of the best professionals that I have worked with. Online some of my other sitters and walkers Koren studied veterinary science at University and has worked for multiple different vets. She is punctual, professional, communicates well, and is incredibly caring to the dogs. I couldn't recommend her any more. Ziah loves her and gets as excited to see her as he does for us when we come home from work.

Information Koren R. would like to know about your pet

Some things I like to learn ahead of time: Would you like to schedule a meet-and-greet before the stay? What’s your preferred method of communication? Does your pup have any health issues that need to be tended to? For instance, dietary restrictions, medicine, or behavior triggers? Do you have a vet nearby that you trust? Is your dog spayed/neutered? Does your pup like to stick to a given schedule, like regular walks in the morning and evening? What does your pup do well around? What does your pup try to avoid? What’s the best way to spoil your pup?

A typical day

Although I will always do my best to follow your pup’s schedule, but I do like to have a general frame for what a typical day would like like. We would go for a walk in the morning before breakfast, and then enjoy a little playtime. I work from 10-2, so, depending on the dog's needs, I could return for lunch to let them out again at lunch time. I’m also happy to set them up in a crate and make sure they are good to go for the time that I’m away. Then, I’ll return home for evening walkies/run/playtime and dinner. On the weekends we would enjoy outdoor activity within their physical limitations. I enjoy parks and trails in the area, as well as swimming in a baby pool in the yard. We could even go to the dog park if your pup is good with other dogs. I have a very active dog that loves to get out and play, so spending time out in nature is always on the menu for us! We can head to Picnic Island and Gadsden Park together since those are my favorite places to bring dogs to. There are tons of great things to do locally, so we’ll have an amazing time exploring them together!
