I have a border collie mix named Max and a tiger cat named Nova. While living in Colorado, I rescued Max from a shelter when he was about 1 year old. We were constantly in the mountains, hiking and exploring trails. He's adjusted to Iowa very well. I get up every morning at 5:00 am to take him for a 20-minute jog around the neighborhood. I like to joke that my dog has a healthier lifestyle than most people! I also worked at pet boarding facility called Rover Retreat where I cared for about 30 dogs at a time. My responsibilities were to watch over them while they played in the yard, kennel them when necessary, feed them, and give baths. Because of this experience, I'm very comfortable around all types of dogs and treat them all as if they were my own.
