Passionate, Flexible, Dedicated

Pet care experience

I've always loved spending time with animals. It was an absolute joy to train and look after my own dog for 14 years, gaining valuable experience in obedience training and the care of senior animals. I have been relied on for pet sitting by friends and family since I was a young teenager and have recently started helping them specifically with dog training. This work has become my passion and one I hope to make a career of. I am currently taking every opportunity to build upon my skillsets by working with dogs of all varieties and ages. Additionally, I am experienced in the care of small pets and exotics through previous clients and owning a few of my own. I am especially knowledgeable in the husbandry of small reptiles (including snakes) and amphibians. However, I am also equipped to care for small mammals (including rabbits) based on previous ownership and pet-sitting experience.

Kit has cared for my 2 dogs numerous times and they absolutely love her. She is responsible, reliable, thoughtful and caring which brings me peace of mind when leaving my precious pets. One dog is on a special diet and requires multiple daily meds and Kit made sure she maintained her schedule for us while we are gone. Leaving your pet is hard, but they are in good hands with Kit.

Safety, trust & environment

I like to provide a calm and stable home to all animals in my care. I only accept one client (max. 2 pets per client) at any given time to ensure each animal has my full attention and facilitate a more controlled environment. I will take the time to learn the unique personality and needs of each animal in my care. For boarding services: There are no children or other dogs living in the house. My small caged pets are kept in a separate part of the house from client's pets. There is no smoking inside. I have a large and open front yard with plenty of room to roam, however it is not fully fenced. Dogs are kept strictly on leash/run whenever outside and carefully monitored at all times. The house is set far back from the street/sidewalk. Note: I am unable to accept boarding clients at this time but may be able to do so at a future date. Check back with me for any updates. Services with dog sitting include feeding, walking (up to approx. 50 pounds), playtimes, potty breaks, loving attention, administering medications (with prior instruction), and early or ongoing obedience training (if desired.)

Information Kit P. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know about any medical issues (including allergies) or specific needs your pets may have. I will usually accept unspayed/unneutered dogs but would like to know ahead of time. Information regarding your pet's daily routine, favorite activities, and noise level will help determine if we are a good match. I also need to know in advance if your dog tends to pull when walking. I am physically fit and well versed in leash training but may not be equipped to control a dog over 50 pounds with a tendency to pull. I do not accept pets with a history of aggression at this time. Husbandry specifics for small animals may be discussed prior to accepting new clients. Please be prepared to bring your pet's crate/carrier, favorite toys, foods, treats, medications, and additional supplies for boarding services.

A typical day

I will be very attentive to the needs of your pets. I recognize that different breeds and individual animals have unique requirements and preferences when it comes to their daily schedule. Dogs might be taken to a nearby park for a hike or just a simple walk around the block. Vigorous play sessions and games will also help them burn off some energy. I like to provide enrichment with petting, cuddles, treats, and training, depending on your pet's preferences. I can help clients reinforce their dog's training, taking a patient and positive approach. And of course, I am always happy to spend some time relaxing on the couch with a furry friend when its time for a break. Some dogs even like watching tv! I will always ask about a dog's schedule (including feeding times, medications, and potty breaks) prior to taking a new client so I can give them the best day possible.

Pet care is my full-time job. I am able to dedicate the majority of my time each week to looking after your pet(s). I am a part-time student in online college who is at home during the day save for the occasional errand or medical appointment. I am available to take clients at any time, for any amount of time throughout the week unless otherwise noted.
