I’ll play with your dogs and cats!

Pet care experience

I have experience living with and caring for dogs and cats of all ages, including those who have complex health needs. It would be my delight to care for your fur family, resting easy knowing they are in good hands. Also happy to care for birds, rabbits, and other animals—just ask! First, the cats: I am an avid cat lover, and have lived with cats since I was born. I have experience caring for cats post-surgery, keeping food sources separate in the event that one of your cats is on a special diet/has medicated food and it’s necessary to restrict food access, pilling *very* difficult-to-medicate cats, and attending to cats with complex medical needs while their guardians are away. I’ll pet them, play with them, and make sure they’re well cared for. I am careful entering and leaving homes to prevent even the most crafty cats from escaping. Regarding Dogs: I have experience caring for a wide variety of dogs, including an older (8+ year) Rott mix with major hip problems, large breed dogs (e.g., high energy German Shepherds), and small and mid-sized dogs. I understand and will consistently follow the behavioral plans and rules that are in place for your dog, because I value maintaining as much consistency as possible while you are away. I will work to diligently reinforce the behavior you want, and will adhere to the care plan we discuss while your dog(s) are in my care. As an animal lover myself, I understand that choosing your sitter and allowing someone to care for your pets requires a great deal of trust, and I’ll look after them as if they were my own. As far as other creatures, I grew up with birds (a lovebird and a parakeet) and a rabbit, and adored them. I know it can be hard to find care for other animals and I’m very willing to learn what is needed to give the best care possible!

Kit was great! Her love for animals really shines through, and I felt immediately comfortable leaving my little guy in her care. We’ll definitely seek her out next time we need a sitter.

Cat was absolutely amazing with our 4.5 year old Boston terrier, Ollie! She was able to make him feel at ease while we were away. She provided frequent updates, was super responsive, and amazing with Ollie. I highly recommend Cat!

Mary is amazing. She took good care of Sri. I would recommend having her sit your dog or cat anytime.

Information Mary "Kit" M. would like to know about your pet

What’s most important to me is knowing your cats/dogs preferences and behavioral quirks, as well as dietary needs, injuries, and behavioral issues you are working on. Though I’m not a trainer, I have experience working with cats and dogs with specific behavioral needs, and do have behavioral training in another field—so I understand the importance of adhering to training closely. I don’t work with dogs that are reactive to or aggressive toward humans, or who were aggressively trained. I work with dog-reactive dogs provided that a clear plan is in place I’m confident I can follow, and (usually) the dog is medium size or smaller. Also, your pets favorite activities, toys, treats, and any health needs, so that I can respect your wishes and boundaries with your fur children and be sure they are happy and healthy.

A typical day

If I’m caring for your cat, I’ll refill treat balls, play until your darling is all pounced out, provide a good brush, and make sure your sweet feline is getting enough attention and lap time. I’m also happy to attend to fur on furniture, blankets, etc. For dogs, we’ll wander the neighborhood or whatever dog park your dog loves best!
