For boarding, they would be kept inside and I would take them out for regular potty breaks and walks. I would make sure they were fed at the appropriate times, had fresh water, and were given any meds needed. They would not be allowed on the furniture in the living room but you can bring their bed for them to lay in so they are comfy. At night they can sleep in the room with me. Or if you prefer them to be inside their crate you can bring that as well. They will be kept safe and secure and there is no way for them to get out of the house unless I bring them outside. They will be kept on leash outside so that they do not run away. In your home I would follow whatever instructions you give for their care.
