Vet student dog walker and pet sitter!
Pet care experience
I have been taking care of animals professionally and privately for about 10 years now. In the States, I was a veterinary technician for three years. This provided me with critical care skills all the way from newborn puppies to senior pets! It also allowed me to have experience administering medication and caring for sick pets as I worked overnights to care for our hospitalized patients. Working in an animal hospital allowed me to see the behavioral side of pet care as well. I have been able to see how pets interact not only with each other but with new people. In the past, I have handled all aspects of animal care and worked with everything from nervous pups to feisty cats. I am willing to work with the animals to what they are comfortable with to make a pawsitive experience. I am currently a vet student at the university and typically have to spend a few hours on campus a day but can be a bit flexible with times. I try to only board pups overnight who are okay being left alone for a few hours. I usually have any potential boarders come over for a meet and greet prior to the booking just to meet your pup and familiarize them with the surroundings! At an owner's home, I keep the routine exactly as they would have it as that is what the animal is used to. I also enjoy being outside so if it is a pet that likes walks there will be plenty of those! In my own home I try not to keep a calm environment and keep the pet busy.

This was the first time we had Obi, our 19 month old, high energy Golden Retriever, stay with someone who wasn’t family or a close friend. The experience we have had with Kirstyn has been amazing and we have already booked in with her again! Even at the meet and greet Kirstyn asked us lots of questions so that she could keep Obis routine as similar to normal as possible. We received regular updates with pictures throughout the weekend and it looked like he had a fabulous time, he seemed very happy thank you again!
Alfie had his first overnight with Kirstyn. He was very relaxed and happy to go. I feel confident that he’s getting really good care with someone who clearly loves dogs and enjoys their company.
We booked Doris in for an overnight stay with Kirstyn and wouldn't hesitate to book her in again in the future. Kirstyn was great from start to finish - we had a meet and greet in a local park prior to Doris's stay and she took a great interest in Doris and her needs / personality. She clearly has so much love for animals which shines through. On the day of Doris's overnight stay, we were kept well informed with updates about how she was doing including photos and videos which was much appreciated. Doris had a great time and came back happy and exhausted from her little trip away! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Kirstyn to take care of your beloved pets.
We left Bailey, our cockapoo, with Kirstyn for 2 nights. This was the first time he had stayed with anyone other than friends or family. He was well cared for very well exercised. He seemed happy. We would highly recommend Kirstyn.

I live in a ground-floor flat with access to a fully fenced-in backyard. In my house I have a gate that goes across the main hallway to prevent pets from rushing the door and possibly escaping, it is an added security measure for reassurance. My building is also closed off by a secure entryway.

Information Kirstyn R. would like to know about your pet
It is important to me to know about your dog's regular schedule. When I have them in my home I like to keep them as close to their normal schedule as possible to keep them happy! Also, I would like to talk to find out about any fears (cars, other pets, loud noises, ect.) that your pet might have. I also would like to discuss any training that you may do at home already with your pet so while they are with me they are being trained by the same commands that they already know and find the reinforcement. Please let me know any special treatment that your pup might receive from you on a daily basis, wether it is a little treat in the middle of the day or an afternoon cuddle session I am always wanting to do whatever will make them feel comfortable!
A typical day
I live a super active lifestyle. When not pet sitting or dog walking I am out and about most of the day, I go on plenty of walks on my own and love having company. I do have a car so this allows me to get out of Glasgow and to the surrounding areas for a hike or two as well. A typical day consists of an early start, and a long walk in the morning. The middle of the day is used for studying and downtime. Towards the afternoon another long walk then dinner and a quick trip outside to the fenced in backyard. If this routine doesn't work for your pup please let me know as I am quite felxible! I have several walking routes off of the busy roads here in Glasgow and many surrounding parks nearby that I can go to. I also have a long leash to allow the pups who don't walk off the leash to run around when in an open space!

Availability
I am a student but I have plenty of time during the day to hang out at home and give tons of cuddles and attention to the animals. I am an active person so having a buddy on my many daily walks is always welcome. I typically am either at home or out adventuring so your pup will be stimulated and go to sleep tired and happy at night. Please note that for any pups boarding, I do have to step out for a few hours each day so I only accept pups who can be left alone for a little bit of time. I do have cameras in my flat and can check in on them when I am out but due to respect to my neighbors, I can not have a pup that will be nervous and bark if left alone!
