Animal lover available to take care of your pets

Pet care experience

I'm honoured to have looked after many dog friends over the years. From the early years of secondary school, I've been dog walking, dog sitting and training dogs of all shapes, sizes, breeds and temperaments and I've loved every second of it. I adore dogs, as much as I love all animals, dogs are special. It's a privilege to spend time with them and my approach to dog care is to love and care for all dogs as though they were my own. That doesn't mean I will let dogs do whatever they want, I believe it's important to reward good behaviour and to maintain good behaviour even when the owners are away - you don't want to come back to a dog with bad habits! I'll happily talk through this with you to ensure you're happy with my approach and ensure we're on the same page. Most importantly, know that your dog will be cared for as though they were my own. With all the cuddles, pets, walks and play they want! I'm also a proud volunteer for Raystede Animal Sanctuary near Lewes where I've been volunteering fortnightly since May 2023. I've also worked for an animal talent agency whilst living in Australia, where I was lucky to work with and train animals used for TV, Film and in Advertising. Note: I'm trained in pet first aid and carry a pet first aid kit with me at all times when I'm with your dog.

I've known Kirsty for 3 years, and during that time she's looked after my Labrador James countless times. Kirsty is fantastic with James and loves playing with him and taking him for long walks. She often takes care of him overnight and it is so comforting to know he's in the safest of hands when I am away. It also means I can relax knowing he's so well taken care of. Kirsty absolutely loves animals, and every animal. She has a very kind soul and is extremely personable, I have no qualms about recommending her for Rover. Any pet owner would be very lucky to have her.

Kirsty looked after my Jack Russell puppy for 2 months and I wouldn’t have trusted anyone else to have done it, especially with such a young puppy. She was so attentive to his needs, and clearly very attune with him so it was clear she had spent a lot of time playing with and training him. The teddy she bought him is still his favourite toy! Kirsty is a reliable, kind & trustworthy person and I would absolutely recommend her to look after any pet.

Kirsty is the best pet sitter I could possibly ask for. Her love for animals shines through and I know that my older disabled cat is in good hands when Kirsty stays. I would 100% recommend.

Kirsty absolutely adores animals, her passion for their well being is equally met by competence and experience. Highly trustworthy, caring and reliable I can’t think of anyone I would rather entrust my dogs and horses to. I know that they are in safe hands with someone who genuinely cares about them having as much of a nice time as we are when we are away on holiday! I’ve known Kirsty for a number of years and highly recommend her.

Information Kirsty R. would like to know about your pet

I've worked with dogs of differing temperaments and needs from arthritis, other medical conditions and behavioural issues. I'm happy to administer any medications needed and ask that we have a clear schedule for me to know when medications are expected. In terms of other needs, quirks, fears, excited behaviours, please tell me anything I need to know beforehand or at our Meet and Greet so I know what's normal for your pup(s).

A typical day

I think for most dogs, learning and mental stimulation is just as important as physical activity and play time. I'd happily teach your dog a few tricks, how to walk to heel etc. There's also plenty of time for play tug, frisbee, ball, hide and seek - whatever your dog is into! We're so lucky in Brighton to be by the beach and to have the South Downs on our doorstep so I'm happy to take your pup to their favourite spot or mix it up to keep things interesting.
