Super friendly home & weekday pet sitter!

Pet care experience

I’ve got my own dog, a well-behaved and calm 4 year old fox red Labrador called Dylan who we have trained from a puppy using positive reinforcement. I have experience with dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, fish, chickens, snakes and hamsters to name a few. I’ve always been brought up with animals, especially large dogs (rottweilers and mastiffs), and I’ve cared for my friends’ dogs over the years which have included alsatians, whippets, staffordshire bull terriers, and cocker spaniels. I have, up until recently, volunteered for a national charity called The Cinnamon Trust in order to give back to the community and help older people, the terminally ill and their pets.

Loved Kirsty. Most importantly Marley got on well with her. She is lovely and gives great feedback of Thier time together. It was nice to know our boy was in safe hands.

I am so blessed to meet this amazing person Kirsty. It was the first time I have been using a sitter for my dog, so I was a bit concerned on how the things will go, but Kirsty has been so helpful and supportive. She made sure everything will go smoothly and I did not had to worry for a second. The way she interacted with us prior to sitting with my dog to make sure he is familiarised and comfortable, as well we have been introduced to her wonderful dog so Tobias could socialise himself with other dogs too. I have been away for a full day, but my soul was at peace knowing that my dog is safe home, as Kirsty kept me updated the full day. I will definitely recommend her and definitely will keep in touch for any other times we will need her services. Thank you Kirsty, you’ve been lovely xx

Have used Kirsty many times to look after my dog, Nathan. Not only is she an excellent carer but also her love of animals is very apparent. Her own dog Dylan is very well trained, super friendly and gets on with other dogs very well. Kirsty is very reliable and has a serious love and passion for taking care of animals. I have come to consider Kirsty as a friend and enjoy our conversations when we meet. So lucky to have come across someone so compassionate and caring in everything she does. Would recommend in a heart beat. You'll struggle to find someone so wonderful.

I will care for your pets in your home as if they are my own! I’m a fit and healthy non-smoker who can walk and play with your pets to tire them out and keep them company. I have been a home owner myself for 13 years so I understand how important it is to choose someone you can trust to look after your home (and pets). I have trained my own dog and have looked after other people’s dogs, including ones who have behavioural issues so I am very experienced in handling them firmly, yet sensitively, and all to your requirements. I have my own dog, but I can leave him to tend to your pets if necessary as my partner can look after him, or I can bring him along as another companion for your animals if you allow. Dylan is extremely well-behaved, calm and careful. Although he is a large dog, he loves small spaces due to being crate-trained so he loves to find a small chair or table to snuggle under, so he won’t take up much room in your house!

Information Kirsty O. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if there are any special requirements I should know (e.g. medical needs, dietary needs, allergies, dislikes, fears, difficult behaviours etc). I can deal with these best when I know them beforehand.

A typical day

I love going for long walks on different routes to keep it fun and fresh for me and your pet. There are so many different places to visit: fields, forests, streams, country parks, which makes it a great experience. As well as outdoor walks, I believe in lots of mental stimulation for dogs, including snuffle mats, playing with toys, sniffing out treats etc. I will ultimately, always follow your preferences as you know your pet best.

I’ve recently stopped being a primary school teacher (of 8 years) to become an online tutor, which I love! It’s now given me the freedom to pursue my passion of looking after pets. My dream is to own my own dog boarding company, and until I can do that, I would really enjoy helping to look after other people’s pets. I am available during the week, weekdays 8am-5pm. My schedule varies slightly due to my tutoring but feel free to get in touch to discuss the finer details!
