Pet care experience
With 3 years of dedicated pet care experience and a lifetime of love for dogs, I'm your go-to sitter on Rover. From raising my own pup, George, from a tiny bundle of fur to caring for a variety of breeds, from huskies and dachshunds, I've got the skills to ensure your furry friend feels right at home. Whether it's puppy training or senior care, I've got you covered. Trust me to follow any special requirements and provide top-notch care for your beloved companion.
Reviews
Kirstie looked after our dog during our long weekend away. Our dog absolutely loved her and didn't want to come home! She's so friendly and thoughtful with lots of treats and toys for the dogs to play with. Her home and garden are very dog friendly, there's lots of space for them to run around. There are good walks close to Kirstie's home. Kirstie has a very friendly dog of her own, so she's fully aware of how to take care of dogs. I definitely wouldn't hesitate to ask her to babysit our dog in future!
Kirstie has taken great care of my dog over the past two years, with her regular sitting she has been one of the main reasons he is such a good boy. Could not recommend a sitter as highly as I can with Kirst,

Safety, trust & environment
In my home, safety, trust, and a comfortable environment are top priorities for pet care. With a fenced back garden and access to nearby open fields and a dog walking forest, your furry friend will have plenty of opportunities for outdoor adventures and exercise. I have crates available in different sizes for your dog's comfort and security, although larger breeds may benefit from bringing their own. To keep your pup entertained, I prepare frozen kongs and have a variety of enrichment toys available throughout the day. My own dog, George, is friendly and adaptable, happy to either join in the fun or relax as needed. If your dog requires some solo time, I can accommodate separation when necessary for short periods of time ensuring an stress-free experience for everyone. However we do not accept bookings where the dogs would need to be separated for the whole booking (this would be unfair on both dogs!)

Information Kirstie M. would like to know about your pet
I prefer to meet up with you before booking so we can talk through some the below. It also gives us chance to introduce our dog to yours (although we’ve yet to meet any dog he hasn’t gotten along with!) Here's a list of important information I'd like to know about your pet ahead of time: 1. Details about your pet's daily routine, preferred walking times, feeding schedule, and any specific dietary preferences or restrictions so we can do our best to accommodate. 2. Any medical conditions, allergies, or medications your pet requires. It's also essential to have your vets contact information in case of emergencies - we should be able to get this off Rover so just check it’s up to date! 3. Insights into your pet's temperament, socialisation level, and any behavioural quirks or triggers to be aware of. This helps me tailor their care and ensure a comfortable environment. 4. Information about any obedience training or commands your pet knows, as well as any ongoing training goals or techniques you'd like me to reinforce. 5. Details about your pet's energy level, favourite activities, and preferred toys or games. This helps me plan engaging and enjoyable activities for them throughout the day. 6. Any specific comforts or routines that help soothe your pet, as well as any anxiety triggers or strategies to help them feel safe and secure in my care - especially important around firework season! 7. In addition to your veterinarian's information, it's helpful to have emergency contact numbers for you or a trusted individual who can make decisions on your pet's behalf if needed - again we can usually get this from Rover, so just make sure it’s up to date! By providing this information ahead of time, I can ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for both you and your beloved pet during their stay with me.
A typical day
Here's a typical day in the life of your doggo under my care: Your doggo will start their day with a morning walk with my husband, me & our dog George, usually in our local fields or forest, followed by breakfast. Afterward, we usually engage in a play or training session. Then, while I settle in for a couple of hours of work, your doggo can enjoy some downtime, continue with light play with George or enjoy chewing the (many!) safe chews we have on hand. Come lunchtime, they'll have the option to play in our fenced backyard or join me for another walk. In the afternoon, I usually introduce them to an enrichment toy, like a frozen Kong, to keep them mentally stimulated and entertained whilst I get a bit more work done. In the evening, your doggo can embark on another leisurely stroll with my husband and me, before enjoying their dinner. Sometimes we skip the evening walking if it looks like everyone’s too tired and instead we’ll relax on the sofa together - especially if it’s been a busy day! On some evenings, they might even have the opportunity to socialise with my friends and their furry companions over dinner. Throughout the day, their well-being and happiness will remain my top priority, ensuring they have a tail-wagging good time under my care.

Availability
I work from home most of the time, so I can dedicate my attention to your furry friend during those days. My flexible work hours allow me to adapt my schedule to meet the needs of your doggo, ensuring they receive the care and attention they deserve. Since I have my own dog, George, I understand the importance of regular walks, and I'll happily take your doggo out for their usual morning and evening stroll with us, keeping them happy and healthy.
