I can take your dog hiking!

Pet care experience

I am happiest when I'm with my dogs, especially if we get to spend time together outside. My family has always had dogs and I currently have two dogs of my own who are my pride and joy. My dogs are both right around 50 pounds and get along with most dogs they meet. I worked at a vet clinic for over 3 years and currently work as a wildlife biologist. I also have experience volunteering for the humane society so I'm comfortable around all dogs and dogs are usually very comfortable around me. I also have experience with cats and some exotics. I can stop by to let your dog out and give him (or her) some loves while you're away or I can take your dog on a fun adventure to a park or out hiking. My schedule is rather sporadic as I travel a lot for work and camp for extended periods of time but please feel free to reach out to me anytime! If I don’t respond within 12 hours that probably means I’m camping and out of service.

Safety, trust & environment

At this time I am only offering drop-in visits and walks. Walks could be around the block, hiking, going to a dog park, or going somewhere to play fetch/frisbee. Drop-in visits could be as simple as letting them out to go potty or could involve pets or play depending on your dogs unique needs/preferences.

Information Kirstie K. would like to know about your pet

Does your dog get along well with other dogs? How does he play with other dogs? Any possessive behaviors? Can your dog be trusted off-leash?

A typical day

I enjoy going hiking but am still relatively new to Eugene so I’m still figuring out my favorite areas to go. I do live right by the Amazon dog park so that would be an option. Fetch and frisbee are always fun options too!

Availability

I feed my dogs twice daily in the morning and evening. I try to keep their diet interesting by adding fresh ingredients like blueberries, carrots, or chicken to their food. I also try to get them some form of physical and mental exercise each day. This includes hiking, frisbee, training seasons, agility, and scent work.
