WFH Pet Sitter + Foster Parent Alum
Pet care experience
We’ve taken care of all kinds of animals for family and friends’ and have experience in fostering service dogs-in-training and dogs with special needs (healing from orthopedic surgeries, attending to physical therapy needs, administering medications, etc.) and senior dogs that may need more attention. We’ve fostered dogs of every kind through being UCD Fracture Program foster pawrent alums, all with specific needs (medications, physical therapy, etc.) and are confident that we can make your pet feel comfortable in a new space. We’re excited to care for your pet and keep them company, whether that’s to be a snuggle/cuddle buddy or a playmate.

Always a delight - Kirsten and Raphael are the sweetest and treat my fur baby like their own!
Kirsten and Raphael are fantastic! We did a meet and greet at their house to meet Blossom and make sure both doggies were comfortable. During the stay, we got regular updates and pictures. And when I picked Jack up, Kirsten gave me an overview of his stay. I really appreciate these guys and will definitely be using them again!
Kirsten and Raphael are terrific! They really understand dogs and what they need. We left our dog, Rocky, with them for a long weekend while we visited our son at college. They kept us updated all weekend with beautiful pictures of Rocky. He was calm and happy when we picked him up. It was clear he had been well cared for. I highly recommend Kirsten and Raphael!

Safety, trust & environment
We are tucked away in the “country side” of Richmond, where we have access to many trails, including paved ones to take your dog on. If your dog prefers to stay in or just likes to be outdoors, we have a large fenced backyard with a nice set-up so that they can soak up the sun supervised. Our own pup, Blossom, is crate-trained and we also have an extra crate, if this is your preferred space for your pet.

Information Kirsten & Raphael N. would like to know about your pet
Please share your pup’s routine so we can stick to what they’re used to as much as possible. It can be scary/intimidating for your pup to be left with new people and a new place, so our goal is to provide them as much comfort and care while they’re missing their favorite people. Please make sure to list any allergies or sensitivities your pet has as well as all of their triggers (if any) and what helps calm them down. Please also include any information on whether you’re working on any specific habits you’re trying to form or break so that we can make sure to work on those during our time with your loved one.
A typical day
We personally go on three walks per day of 1-3 miles per walk, with some backyard time mid-day to soak up some sun. Depending on your pet, if they’re into playing with toys, we’re happy to play when they get bursts of energy. We mostly walk around our neighborhood but also will walk at nearby trails if not too wet or muddy. A favorite for us is Kennedy Grove Regional Park since it has paved trails and tall trees for shade, especially on hot days.

Availability
We both work from home and are able to care for your pet with very minimal alone time (1-2 hours at most). If your pet needs more frequent potty breaks (hourly) or needs regular walks, we can definitely accommodate this so that your pet is comfortable.
