Kirsten was very attentive and caring with our two cats. She stayed at our home and sent plenty of pictures and updates the whole time. We felt super comfortable with her in our home and with our pets and appreciate how much she showed love and affection to our cats while we were away.

Safety, trust & environment

@ HOME: I'm completely comfortable with spending time at the client's home given the nature of my remote studies and time availability. If you will be gone for any extended period of time, I am happy to do overnighters and have instilled habit of keeping the space clean, providing ample food/water day of return along with a handwritten note (if we do not meet up before I leave). I have been doing this sort of pet sitting since 2015 and will do all that I can to make your pet feel 110% at home, in their home! BOARDING: Please contact me for boarding as it *may* be available upon discussion. As my studio space is small, I would not feel comfortable boarding *all* pets in my space - size, activity, age & special needs come into play here... thank you so much!

Information Kirsten D. would like to know about your pet

As a professional pet sitter, the very core of my role and main responsibility, is to care for your pet - their safety, health and well-being as first and foremost. That being said, certain pet information is crucial for me to know, to give the care that they need, individually. Any information and must-know details that you provide to me beforehand helps tremendously! For reference, please provide the following information when preparing to my book pet sitting service...: • Pet temperament & behavior details (especially any aggression or special handling / feeding time needs) - timid or territorial? 'Unique' behaviors, and if so, any information on how I can recognize them and soothe them to avoid escalating the behavior? Providing info on your pet’s usual demeanor can also be helpful for identifying problems (i.e. if I'm aware that your cat is afraid of strangers, I won’t worry if they stay under the bed for our first day together .. however, if a normally energetic and vocal dog suddenly wants to sleep all the time? it could be a sign that they're feeling unwell/ill, etc) • How do you deal with certain behaviors? Your pet requires consistency, and you (probably) know best how to handle bad behavior, fearful behavior, anxious behavior, etc. If your pet shouldn't be doing something during the sit, let me know what it is and importantly, what I should do as their pet sitter, to keep it under control. they shouldn’t during your house sit... i.e. are there certain commands that I should be using? • Are there any specific boundaries set for the your pet? i.e. are you fine with them sleeping on the bed, or have you been working to keep them off the bed? couch? Any areas of the house off-limits? Do you keep certain pets in your family separate? i.e. bird room for separation from cat, puppy siblings that fight a *lil bit* too much, etc! • Medical issues and/or medications needed? Allergies? For pets with medication, please include ROA (administration of medicine) and dosage instructions with any relevant information or tips you'd like to provide (i.e. easing your pet's nerves around medicine time, specific scheduling info, take with food/without, etc) - for notable allergies (food or plant) be sure to let me know so that I can make sure there is no exposure (better safe than sorry!) - I'm comfortable with providing your pet with their medication (and comfortable providing other treatments such as flea treatments, topical treatments, wormer treatments, etc) • Dietary needs, special foods and food timing, their usual daily feeding schedule and snack schedule, snack limit, food allergies (also mentioned above), and other relevant information, i.e. their go-to favorite foods if they're in a 'picky' mood or have irregular hunger, what to *always* avoid no matter what, what to avoid only at specific times or with specific foods, etc... • Emergency contact information - more than one option always welcome - especially for immediate contact! (for example, you could provide your partner's info if you know that they're more likely to notice a phone call come through, provide your work phone number in case I need to reach you during your working hours, etc... even a helpful neighbor contact info would be useful!) Please also provide their vet contact, if possible, as well as their emergency vet (if different from their usual vet) and lastly, if available, insurance company contact info, should your pet need treatment or specific medical aid promptly • Access instructions for your home/building (if applicable... not too much to explain here!) • Any other information you feel would be important for me to know, to provide the best care possible for your pet(s). Can they be left alone, and for how long? Any triggers or fears that aren't as common as (not as common as, say, the vacuum cleaner or a thunderstorm, for example) - do you have information for rewarding good behavior or positive growth development and related moments? Also, if anything happens to come to mind that isn't so 'urgent' (less urgent than anything listed in this section, at least) - like a favorite playtime ritual or toys, YouTube videos they love, music they seem to enjoy, the best time of day to go out for a walk or open the windows for good gazing, and in general, any specific and unique ways to make them happy- let me know, let me know!☺ My goal is to provide the best possible care for your pet(s) - after all, they are your family! Open communication regarding their needs will help ensure their sitting is seamless, stress-free, and a positive experience - for them AND you!☺ Your peace of mind matters, and I honor the trust that you put into me to care for your pet. Whether your sit is a short-term, 'once in a blue moon' kinda thing - or, your sit becomes a long-term, no-hesitation to reach out, meaningful relationship with me as your go-to sitter (☺!), don't hesitate to contact me with any questions. I look forward to coming together to give your pet many best-day-evers, no matter how far apart you are from each other. I'm here to bridge the gap, and provide what is needed, to help you make that happen.

A typical day

As a pet sitter AND lifelong animal enthusiast & caring friend to all of them (yes, even the creepy-crawly ones☺), the typical day on duty involves not only providing the essential care & enrichment for each individual animal - but ALSO devoting lots of time well spent, filled with enjoyment & wonderful moments shared *mutually* between myself & each animal. I love exploring daily-flows, always learning about your pet and observing them, which eventually leads to the discovery of your pet's ultimate 'best-day-ever' flow! Adaptabiliy allows me to find that daily-flow while professionally adhering to any special needs, time-sensitive tasks, requests and/or preferred (strict) schedules without losing the 'best-day-ever' aspect for your non-human family member(s). A day spent with your pet is a day for me to be the best pet sitter FOR YOUR PET - personalized care for all! It's that simple. ☺☼ I ensure a safe, comfortable, and enriching environment with...: ♡ Fresh food and water - emphasis on fresh, clean, temp-checked water! My personal rule: drinking water provided for pet(s) should appear to be drinkable enough for me! OK, ok... Messy eaters and dish-dippers (thinking of my bird friends) may provide some exceptions, but in general - if it's not good enough for me to drink, your pet is getting a good H2O refresh! ♡ Clean potty/litter areas - maximum "go time" comfort ♡ Never forgotten snacks and training treat time if needed (*I'm experienced with this!) ♡ Grooming, cleaning and specialized treatments as needed and/or per scheduled (i.e. scheduled at-home salon visits, vet visits, etc *will go to scheduled visitations outside of home, if needed during sitting, contact regarding that) ♡ Water monitoring for aquatic pets as well as consistent water changes for animals with bathing areas, swimming areas, and general enrichment that involves fresh, clean water ♡ Close health/behavior monitoring, especially for seniors or special needs pets or new circumstances that require extra observation while under my care ♡ Proper communication in any concerning situation through immediately contacting you with thorough details. Your pet's well-being is always the priority under my care. They will receive prompt attention ASAP, as they deserve - it's not just professional diligence, but care for a deserving, living being* You can expect...: ❤ Fun activity updates and pictures/videos ❤ Friendly, personable communication. I'm also not shy when it comes to asking questions - you know your pet(s) the best, and that helps me to be the best to them☺! ❤ Reliable service from a sitter with a lot of availability for overnighters, extended trips, full days... Since I'm currently a part-time remote intern, all I really need is a wifi connection to get my stuff done, meaning I'm happy to and oftentimes more or less 100% able to stay with your pet(s) while caring for them for several days and over! Needless to say, this also depends on your preferences. I see this being a big + for pets who thrive more with the more time spent, and pets with a history of doing better under the care of someone who has more physical availabiliy than many. Bits of extra detail that may be helpful...: ? ?? - Exercise in the form of adventure walks along with good ol' catch and fetch, outdoor exploration and fresh air, alllll the playtime, scratches that hit *the* spot (probably on the belly!), puppy praise and a needed relaxation snuggle to wind down ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ - The favorite toys (aside from the coveted classic: THE Cardboard Box), tablet games (tap the goldfish in the tank, AKA on the touchscreen... 10/10 kitty app, btw!) and squirrel TV (YouTube outdoor nature videos), multitasking brush massage, window gazing and cuddles... if cuddles aren't enjoyed, no worries - I specialize in 'cat language' and simply let them be when they want to be, where they want to be, for their cozytime! ? ? ? - Favorite tunes queued up, volume turned up justtttt right: singing? Dancing? Headbopping? Plenty of perch time and roaming (in the best area to do so, of course) - ample toy rotation and classic 'pecking' snacks - possibly peanuts?! With so much variety when it comes to the modern-day dino, rest assured that, big or small, your pet dino is in the right hands! I'm a hobby birder, regularly involved, at that; I LOVE birds. I grew up with birds, have done extended pet sits with birds, and took two in-depth university provided ornithology courses throughout 2020 - 2021 (online) - So please, don't hesitate to contact me if you - or even someone you know! - could use a bird sitter („'x'„) ᘛ⁐̤ᕐᐷ? - Safe, stress-free and exploratory spaces with plenty of socialization - and proper chewables! - for those with a hop, piggie pitter-patter, wheel-running tendencies or swift scurry moves (and slight spaghetti tail!); I enjoy providing fun for the smaller fuzzy friends, with a popular favorite by far, being the 'hidden treat' game (hidden with hay or scrunched/shredded paper or bunched-up fabric *ensuring all is chew-safe and playtime-safe!*), which encourages natural foraging behaviors - a fun AND health-conscious activity! With years of experience as an owner of various rodent friends, I understand common behavior, and prioritize creating a stress-free environment without any lacking in lovin' and gentle handling (including cuddles of course- on their term!) ? ? ? - Attentive enclosure care, including maintenance and permitted updates for the occassional change of pace - hideouts, branches, pool-area, you name it! Monitoring all aspects of their home environment consistently, along with general knowledge and personal ownership experience of both reptiles AND amphibians, makes me confident in aiding your pet in living their best lives while you're away. Gentle handling unless specified otherwise always given, along with (*also unless specified otherwise) roaming time in a secure area with plenty of space (set up with toys/stimulating decor, hiding spot, etc), delicious treats (crickets, maybe?), and lots of love and respect provided ──── I provide heartfelt care, and strive that everyday with your pet(s), is simply another *one of many* of their 'best-day-ever's ────
