Pet care experience
I'm a recent college graduate (animal science major, pre-vet concentration) and animal lover. I have one dog of my own (his name is Oliver- Ollie for short!), and a horse. I'm an avid equestrian and hiker, and love the outdoors! I have experience with a variety of dog types, and especially enjoy larger breeds. Pre-covid I volunteered at an animal shelter and spent my time walking and socializing with a variety of pups. Being an equestrian, stronger dogs are no biggie- my horse weighs over 1,000 lbs! However, highly reactive are not my forte. I have been pet sitting off and on for about 6 years. However, my animal care experience is primarily in the horse world- pre-covid I managed/fully cared for a barn of 30 show horses, and I am confident following animal care protocol to the highest standard, whether it be horse, dog or otherwise!

Kira is an excellent sitter. She’s been taking care of my 2 dogs for several years now. She’s prompt, a great communicator and responsible. I’m always given timely updates and pictures. I wouldn’t use anyone else!
Willow was so happy to see Kira. Kira was patient and kind to let Willow adjust to her being there. Willow ate (she never eats with a new person) and went right to Kira. Highly recommend!
Kira did a great job watching our 9 month old puppy. She gave regular status updates with pictures and kept him tired and happy with long walks.

Please let me know about your dog's individual temperament and preferences. How does your dog feel about encountering other dogs on walks? Does your dog have specific triggers or behavioral quirks? Any allergies or medical concerns/restrictions? I have no breed preferences, but do not accept highly reactive dogs of any breed/size. I do require emergency contact information and vet information.
A typical day
My favorite place is Crane Beach, and I love to take dogs there (off season of course). I love to explore trails and parks in the area including Willowdale State Forest, Appleton Farm, Bradley Palmer State Park, etc. I'm happy to modify the length/difficulty of the walk based upon your dog's individual needs, whether that be a short walk around the block or a long active hike in the woods.
