Pet care experience
I've had pets in my family since I was a child, including cats, dogs, hamsters, and fish! As an adult, I've had my own dog for 11 years until he passed away recently, and he and I also lived simultaneously with roommates with pets for many years. I'm very familiar with all of the ins and outs of owning and loving a pet, and take the responsibility seriously while also finding much joy in it. Having lost my own pup, I am not ready to get another pet but am really looking forward to welcoming yours into my home or getting in some play time and caring for them.

As a former pet owner of many years, I know that your pet's safety, comfort, and wellbeing are extremely important to you. I also know that each pet is different and has different needs. When caring for pets in my own home or in another's, it is my first priority to understand your expectations for their care, routine, and comfort and to plan accordingly to deliver that experience to you and your pet. When caring for a pet for the first time, it is important to me to chat with you about those expectations and to get a sense of who your pet is and how I can best care for them. When caring for pets in my own home or in another's, I rarely leave them unattended in the home unless in the case of an emergency. Change is difficult for pets and I don't want to leave them alone or scared in a new environment or situation. I also just enjoy being around animals! I often check-in with owners with updates, photos, and with any questions or changes in our planning that may arise.

Availability
I currently work from home most days for my primary job, and only go into my office about once weekly at my own discretion. I also live in my own apartment now and already have clearance for pets from my landlord. With this flexibility, I'm able to mold my schedule around the needs of any pet in my care, whether it's stepping out to take them on a walk, caring for them overnight or for multiple days, or even sitting them in your own home (as long as there is WiFi access!) I'm happy to work with your expectations for your pet's care to make sure that their time with me is the smoothest and most comfortable experience.
