I've been caring for dogs my whole life and I wouldn't have it any other way. While growing up, I took care of my own dog, pet sat, walked, bathed and fed my neighbors/friends dogs, and my first job was in a kennel caring for and tending to the animals. I used to hold the dogs for the visiting vet there, and she thought I had a great rapport with the animals and suggested I become a veterinarian. I moved on to work as a veterinary receptionist, but I wasn't too happy behind the desk - I wanted to interact with the animals more, so they trained me as a veterinary assistant. When I was 19, I went to grooming school to become a certified groomer and after awhile, I opened my own grooming business and interacted with all my fabulous clients and their pets. I stopped to raise a family, but I was never without a few dogs (and a couple of cats, too!) at any given time. Do you worry about what kind of person will be caring for your pet?
