I work in a school, so I do not have any summer commitments - this leaves me with a very flexible schedule! In college, I volunteered to work with therapy dogs at a rehabilitation center by bringing and greeting them to clients. I truly enjoyed working with the dogs, and more importantly, this resulted in positive experiences for the patients there. I grew up with a Shih Tzu family dog (who knows how to sit, roll over, and shake hands by recognizing signs in sign language!). I am currently a foster for Austin Pets Alive and have enjoyed fostering many cats and kittens; it has been a rewarding experience. I currently live with some roommates, one of whom has a dog. By coming on Rover, I hope to build more experience. Because I am deaf, I am more attentive to behavior than most people.
