Dog lover + a playful pup!
Pet care experience
I've had family dogs my entire life, and in 2012 after moving out on my own I adopted my own dog, Shilah. She was a basset hound and was an absolute queen. Sadly, in October 2022 she died of bladder cancer. Through my years with Shilah and past family dogs, I have a lot of experience with senior dogs and sick dogs. I also have experience with puppies and training them, as we got many of my family dogs as puppies. In November 2023 we adopted a Saint Bernard puppy, Nora, who is very playful and friendly, but also pretty chill when everyone else is relaxing. She is respectful of other dogs and knows when to leave them alone if they’re not in a playful mood.

These guys are awesome. Took great care of Hugo! Nora is a great playmate!
Kimberly did an amazing job with Hamilton! My dog is a rescue and is easily scared/nervous around new people and often takes time to warm up, Kimberly handled it all in stride and had absolutely no problems, making my trip far less stressful. I absolutely intend to book with her again!
Kimberly is my older sister and I've had the pleasure of observing her as a pet caregiver my entire life. She helped take care of our childhood pets including, basset hounds, a yorkie and rabbits. When she moved out of our childhood home, she got her own basset hound and cared for like her own child. Her basset Shilah, who sadly is no longer with us as she recently passed at the old age of 12, got everything she ever needed and had many adventures. Kimberly would take her hiking, to parks and to see friends and family. Kimberly was very responsible with Shilah and made sure she always had someone to watch her in case of emergencies. When Shilah got sick later in life, Kimberly went above and beyond to give her the care and comfort she needed. I would definitely trust Kimberly to take care of my own basset (if I didn't live across the country). I often reach out to her for advice, as I am a new pet parent. She even helped me with my dog the first couple of days I had her. Any pet would be lucky to have Kimberly as a caregiver. Her heart is full of love and passion for animals and she's extremely responsible. I hope this insight is helpful. Please let me know if you have any questions.

I have an infinite well of patience when it comes to dogs. They bring me so much joy and I can't help but spoil them. We allow dogs on our furniture, bed, basically whever they want. I have a doggie door insert for my sliding glass door that leads to a fenced yard so the dog can have access to the yard while I'm gone as long as you're okay with it. Its not a big yard, but it has grass and sun and a place to hang out and pee while we're at work. On the weekends I live an active lifestyle and love to go hiking, camping, running, kayaking, just about anything outdoors, and am always looking to bring the dog as long as they want to come. Shilah wanted to go everywhere with us so I am used to making plans to accommodate a dog. I live by a few different parks (Madam Brett, Long Dock, Dennings Point) and would bring the dog there after work for an hour or 2, or as long as they want. Alternatively, if the dog isn't very active, I am happy to lounge around and cuddle. I want to make the time away from your dog a vacation for them too! I know how stressful it can be to leave your dog with someone and I strive to make them as comfortable and happy as possible.

Please let me know if your dog has any special needs, how they get along with other dogs, their typical daily routine and exersise needs, how they behave when left home alone, and any other pertinent information!
A typical day
There is a school down the block that is an easy walk from my house. I also can take the dog to any of the local parks in Beacon which are a short car ride, or 20+ minute walk away. If your dog likes to run they are in luck, as I am a runner and would be happy to take them along with me! If they are staying over a weekend we could go on a hike, or to a park. I do not have any dog toys but would be happy to play with them if you bring some!

I work Monday through Friday, 8am - 4:30pm. I live 25 minutes from my job so I am gone for about 9 hours per day. I have some flexability with my job and am occasionally able to work from home if necessary. After work I have ample time to bring the dog to the park, on a walk, or whatever exersise they require.
