ONE AT A TIME-Special Needs Welcome
Pet care experience
I have fostered and owned pets my entire life, and recently discovered a new love pet sitting! I STRICTLY KEEP ONLY ONE PET AT A TIME - OR PET FAMILY IF THEY ARE RELATED - so I can focus on their individual schedule, happiness and, of course safety. Keeping your pet is a privilege and brings me great joy, it is not a primary financial stream. (If you need a recurring or long-term sitter who will build a loving relationship with your pet, please contact me for discount.) As for my background and experience, as a youth, I wanted to do more with animals and began raising and training guide dog puppies in my early teens. I also became a volunteer and foster parent for cats and dogs through SPCA over 30 years ago (and have been awarded volunteer and foster of the year multiple times). After seeing a need, I specialized in puppies and kittens needing bottle feeding, older pets needing extra care, and pets with a wide variety of special needs that normally would not be fostered or adopted. After adopting multiple special needs pets (the last two passed away last year), and wanting to adopt every animal I fostered, I realized pet sitting might be better for my marriage! And I have loved hosting happy pets ever since! My children are now in college, and after losing my precious older dog and cat last year, I now only have one cat. I terribly missed having loving animals around the house, and therefore decided to take advantage of the flexibility I have working from home and tried pet sitting. The last year plus has brought me great joy, and hopefully gives pet owners peace of mind when they are away. In addition, I have now arranged my home to be safe, active, and fun for visiting pets! I want both you and your pet to be comfortable before and during the time you are away, and I strive to love and entertain them so much that they feel at home (or on vacation) until you come back for them. Every new pet gets a new chew bone or gift bag! Whatever makes them feel comfy and welcome in our home!
Reviews
This was our first time leaving Roscoe with a sitter. Kim put my mind at ease from the first time we met. Roscoe did fine on his first time away. I can definitely recommend Kim to take care of your four legged babies
Kimberly is an amazing animal caregiver!!! She has worked with all kinds of animals, all ages and sizes. She loves animals with all of her heart and is a great companion to all. Definitely use her for your animal caretaking needs :)
Kim is the best pet sitter in the world. I wholeheartedly trust her with all of my animals. She is incredibly kind and compassionate towards all animals. I know my animals are safe with her! Definitely hire Kim! You won’t regret it!!
Kimberly was great. Our dogs were well taken care of. We will use her again when needed!

Safety, trust & environment
I take the trust and safety of pets very seriously, only keeping one pet (or family of pets) at a time. I also document a daily diary of their experiences, and send pictures on a daily basis (unless requested otherwise). You can review the daily diary document (as well as information I prefer to obtain before pet sitting), in my photos section. This document includes the preferred vet and emergency center I utilize, although I am happy to contact your preferred vet if provided to me. I also have multiple friends who are veterinarians, and I never hesitate to contact them if I am at all concerned about any pet in my care. I prefer dogs be crate trained if they are young and active, but it is only used if we are all gone for a short time (for the dog’s safety and comfort). The rest of the time pets are welcome on the bed, furniture, etc. If there is a reason the dog can’t be crated, please discuss it with me and we can come up with safest and best plan for your pet! I also have a room set up for pets in case they want to be alone or have quiet time. It is also helpful if you bring a blanket from home, so s/he is comforted by the familiar smells of you and their loving home!

Information Kimberly B. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your pet has any special needs, allergies, fears, or habits I should be aware of (chewing, escaping from a kennel or fenced yard, fear of storms, etc.). In addition, we live on a small lake, so I request any information you have about his/her fear or love of water. It is also helpful to know their regular schedule, especially what they usually do when you sleep (will s/he prefer to sleep in our bed, use a pet bed on the floor, kennel, etc.). Finally, if possible, I would love to visit with your pet once before they come the first time (at which time I can give you a tour, we can discuss your pet’s schedule, likes and dislikes, and answer any questions you may have). This is not required, and is more for your comfort, so if a phone call is more convenient that is fine. Thank you for considering me to take care of your precious pet!
A typical day
Most often, we start our day with a walk or run after breakfast. We have a fenced backyard with space for dogs, so I enjoy working outside while the pet plays chasing balls and such before it gets too hot. I do not, however, ever leave them outside alone. We also have a screened-in patio… so pets can hang out there in the day/evening if they like being outside (cats especially love watching the birds and squirrels at our bird-feeders from the safety of the screened in patio or window). We keep our visiting pets in our room with us at night, allowing them on our bed (if permitted by the owner), or we have a comfy dog bed or a large kennel (if they prefer) on the floor next to our bed. We have one cat, but he is easy for us to separate if the pet we are keeping is not comfortable or used to cats.)

Availability
I work from home, allowing me to be available for your pet at almost all times - which is especially helpful with puppies/kittens, older, or disabled pets that need to be closely watched. (I have many years experience with disabled, sick or elderly pets). I am experienced with giving both oral and injected meds, expressions, helping them eat, exercise, etc. Because I only pet sit one animal family at a time, I am able to adjust to your pet(s) schedule. Whatever makes him/her most comfortable!
