Pet care experience
Why do I charge more than most Rover sitters? Because your dog gets WAY MORE exercise, WAY MORE attention and WAY MORE love from me than any other sitter you've ever had. And, I'M NOT SITTING FOR ANYONE ELSE BUT YOU when you hire me. I'm a certified dog nutritionist and dog lover who has run my own business since 2004. My husband and I have a 12 year-old yellow Lab who I trained personally from puppyhood and she loves other dogs & people. We walk 4-5 times a day for a MINIMUM of 45 minutes each walk, and I do the same amount of walking time and play for ALL of my doggie clients. I believe in positive reinforcement for dogs and puppies, and I refuse to use prong or choke collars, so don't call me if you use one of those on your dog. I have never yelled at my dog and won't yell at anyone else's. I train through eye contact, patience and repetition. I love dogs of every shape and size, and have fostered rescue dogs and donated thousands of dollars to canine charities. I just have too much love to give for my one dog, so I need to spread it!
Reviews
Extremely dependable. Filled in on short notice during an emergency; having her watch my dogs put me at ease because she was very communicative and flexible.
Reliable! My dogs loved her.
Kim has a great energy and you can really tell she cares about your dogs! I highly recommend her. Your doggies will love her <3
Kim was wonderful with my two cavaliers. Would highly recommend and book again!

Information Kim K. would like to know about your pet
My experience teaches me that dogs who have not been spayed or neutered emit hormones when they interact with other dogs, and in the case of dogs who have been fixed, those hormones aren't always welcomed. I like my clients to know that. Other than that, I welcome all breeds, all sizes, and all shapes of dogs. No dog is too big or too small for me to love!
A typical day
First thing in the morning, I hit the great outdoors for a long (at least 60 mins) playtime session. We like to run around the big field at Harbor Island Park, and we like to walk along the water edge at Manor Park in Larchmont. We go there in the afternoons as well, or in summer, the dog beach at Manor Beach and in Rye. We have two more long walks right before dinner at 6:30pm and again at 10:30pm. I supply natural, organic dog treats for my clients (with a large focus on fresh fruits and vegetables that are hypoallergenic and nutritionally sound for the canine species; such as dried cranberries, fresh blueberries and strawberries, apricots, banana chips, string beans, broccoli florets and baby carrots). Treats such has freeze-dried chicken, lamb, beef and salmon are also available, but I always check with the client first to make sure that any allergy concerns are paid attention to in my distribution of protein-based snacks. I am also trained to administer any medications both orally or by injection as needed and requested by you. All of my doggie clients enjoy snuggles, kisses, hugs and just good supervision.
