I co-parented a German Shephard mix named Rocky in Greenpoint for 4 years -- once I moved to a new spot, I missed having a pupperoo around. I've pet sat for various friends, and now I'm taking it further. <3

Ummm Kim is a DREAM. We’ve been friends for about three years, so I speak with authority when I say that she is a gem of a human being: honest, playful, sincere, loyal, and adorable to boot. Kim recently looked after my beloved chihuahua Jenny for ten days while my husband and I were out of town. Jenny is a picky little pup, so it was pretty remarkable when she INSTANTLY fell in love with Kim. Throughout our trip, we received photos and videos of the two of them living it up in Brooklyn. Kim totally spoiled Jenny with walks in Prospect Park, games of fetch, and snuggles galore. Trust me, Kim will take excellent care of your fur babies. Although be warned: they may not want to come back home. ;)

Animals are extremely intuitive, and have a great sense of character. They need to feel safe. I am extremely aware of this, and I use a calming presence to make them feel comfortable, so we can build trust and enjoy each other's company. I like to give them fresh air outside and give them cuddles on the couch if they're open to that -- it varies based on specific dogs' temperaments, but I start with building trust.

I think it's important to know if a dog is comfortable around other dogs or prefers one-on-one time. If they are anxious and/or have any behavioral quirks.
A typical day
Certain dogs prefer certain types of care and activities, so I like to get a sense of their unique preferences and go from there. Some love fetch, tug-o-war, and I'm happy to lean in to whichever games they love the most. I love a good jaunt in Prospect or any nearby park, and depending on the social level of the dog, we can take a trip to the local dog park or keep it one-on-one.
