Pet care experience
~ Pet care experience ~ I've taken care of dogs and cats of all sizes for over 15 years. I believe in engaging with them both physically and mentally. Friends have often relied on me to take care of their pets when away for long vacations. I believe in wholeheartedly engaging with your furry friends both physically and mentally. Each pet is unique, and I tailor my care to their individual needs, ensuring they receive the mental and physical stimulation they require. My background includes volunteering with RASKC as a cat meet and greet specialist and dog walker. This experience has equipped me with the expertise to handle a wide range of behavior types. Whether it's puppy training or providing gentle care for senior pets, I've got the skills to ensure a positive experience for your pet. I'm a staunch advocate of positive reinforcement techniques. I use the "Yes" cue to reinforce desired behaviors, creating a nurturing and encouraging environment for your pet's development.

The best. Thank you so much!!!
Kim is a genuine animal lover who is also super friendly and kind to adults. She took great care of the cats, sent lots of photos, and made the animals and humans she interacted with feel well tended and happy. I would not hesitate to have her take care of Edward and Uniqua again. And neither would they!
Kim makes animal loving and care look effortless. Over the years, I've seen her raise multiple dogs and cats of all ages and breeds. Every one was well trained around humans and other animals, and thanks to her thoughtful training, they all had even temperaments. In her home, she goes out of her way to enrich their environments inclusive of every day health and play. Kim is an excellent person to rely on for all your pet needs!

~ How I care for pets in my home and/or your home ~ For cats (drop-ins): When it comes to taking care of cats during my drop-in visits, I want them to feel comfortable and loved. I understand the importance of routine and consistency. That's why I make sure their litter boxes are clean, their water bowls are topped off, and I'll provide the dry/wet food just as you instruct me to. Having personal experience in providing medication to my own senior cat, I know the importance of giving it on time and without any stress or fuss. For dogs (drop-ins, walks, doggie daycare): With dogs, my aim is to create a safe and enjoyable environment. During our walks, I'll let them take their time to explore and savor all the interesting scents along the way. Playtime is all about what your dog enjoys most. If they're into a game of chase or fetch, I'm up for it. If they prefer some wrestling or tug-of-war, count me in. In my home, your pet will have a secure space with a fully fenced yard. They'll have the chance to interact with my two friendly pups and a playful kitten. To ensure everyone's comfort and safety, I do crate my dogs when they're unsupervised. However, I'm flexible, and your preferences regarding crating are what matter most. My living spaces are carefully arranged, so the cats have their private spot upstairs, away from the dogs. When it comes to mealtime, I'll follow your instructions precisely. Your pet's dietary needs are unique, and I'm here to make sure they get exactly what they need. Your pet's well-being is my top priority, and I'm dedicated to creating a warm and trustworthy environment for them during their stay in my home or my visits to yours. I welcome the opportunity to schedule a meet-and-greet, allowing you to get to know me and ensuring a comfortable fit for your pet. Your pet's well-being and happiness are my top priorities, and I'm here to answer any questions you may have. When you entrust me with the care of your beloved pet, you're choosing an experienced, passionate, and dedicated sitter who will make your pet's comfort and happiness a priority. Feel free to reach out to discuss how I can provide the best care for your furry family member!

What is the pet's temperament and typical behavior around strangers, children, or other animals? What does the pet's daily routine typically include, such as meal times, walks, and playtime? What types of toys does the pet enjoy playing with? What commands does the pet know, and are there any specific commands that need reinforcement? How do I mark and reward for desired behavior during training or interaction? How should I handle undesired behaviors or disciplinary actions? What types of treats or chews does the pet enjoy? Does the pet display possessive behaviors over food or toys, and if so, how should these situations be managed? Has the pet ever bitten or attacked another person or animal, and if so, under what circumstances? Has the pet ever been attacked by another dog, and how did they react? Are there any special needs for the pet, such as medical issues, allergies, or medications that need to be administered? vWho should I contact in case of an emergency?
A typical day
A typical day includes playing games with dogs that stimulate them mentally through the use of puzzle toys, sniff games, and lick mats. For dogs I either have them runaround in the yard to play fetch/chase or I take them on a walk, allowing them to go at their own pace so they can really sniff their surroundings. For cats, I love to play with the wand toys or toss a rolling toy around for them. The best of course is to give them all the pets and love <3

Availability
~ My Schedule ~ In my current role, I work full-time remotely, which grants me the flexibility to focus on pet care. My standard work hours typically span from 8 AM to 5 PM, but my availability is flexible and I make an effort to keep my schedule up-to-date on Rover. Understanding that pets have diverse and sometimes unpredictable needs, I'm readily available to step away from work to attend to them. However, it's important to acknowledge that, like any job, there may be occasional meetings or work commitments that require my attention. In such instances, I kindly ask pet owners for their understanding and flexibility in accommodating potential adjustments to the timing of pet care.
