We ❤️ Dogs! All Breeds Welcome.

Pet care experience

Hi, I'm Kim, I live with my husband Devin, son Brandon (5 years) & our Brittany, Shooter (10 years). We have been Rover Pet Sitters since 2014 and we love having dogs stay in our home. Our neighborhood is very quiet and safe for dog walking. We have the Schuylkill River Hike & Bike Trail at the end of our street, along with the Norristown Farm Park a short drive away. Both are idyllic places for dog walking. A 30 minute, afternoon walk is included in the price of the stay (weather permitting & depending on drop-off/pick up times) along with cuddle time, play time, treats and medications. Bathing services are available for an additional fee. Rest assured your dog will be well taken care of in our home while you are away. We like to think of it as their vacation time and provide them with as many things to enjoy while they are here. Playful pooches will be pampered with games such as fetch & tug-of-war. Have a couch potato? No worries, plenty of snuggles and belly rubs! What ever their needs we do our best to meet them. We will send pictures and updates so you don't have to worry about them! We are experienced with all kinds of dog breeds & personalities having fostered and re-homed 15 dogs for American Brittany Rescue, along with the numerous boarders we’ve had stay with us over the years. Brandon, just adores dogs & will give your furry one plenty of hugs & love. We look forward to taking care of your furry children! ***Please note: We do not take dogs under 1 year of age (unless extremely well behaved & calm) nor can we accept high-energy dogs because Shooter does not tolerate them now that he's getting up in age. Normally, both Devin & I work during the week (currently teaching from home) & Brandon attends daycare. I work as a classroom assistant 5 minutes away from our home. We are typically gone from 7:30am to 3:45pm when school is in session, but I can come home around mid-day on my lunch break to let them out, play etc. Therefore, if your dog is not used to being left home alone, we may not be the best fit for your pup. However, from past experience we have seen dogs do very well with only Shooter for company during the day. We do have a dog door so that dogs who will use it will have full access to the backyard all day. Unless school is out we prefer drop-offs to be in the evening in order for us to get your pup settled in, especially for new clients. Pick-ups can be arranged if we are not home during the requested time. About our house & yard Pups can make themselves at home on the main & lower levels of our house and in our spacious backyard. We have a dog door so that pups may go outside at their leisure. We have a fenced, all grass yard (about 0.3 acres) for the dogs to enjoy. The wire along the split rain fence is pinned down into the ground with more wire to prevent any escapes. The fence is around 4ft high and is inspected regularly. We are frequented by birds, squirrels, foxes & deer which keep the dogs entertained! My experience administering medication I have administered pills and topical treatments and I'm comfortable giving injections too. I can perform basic first aid in the event of a minor injury. Availability We take dogs year round, please check the calendar for availability. We take 2 boarders at a time. We prefer drop-offs occur after 4pm during the week, particularly for new clients, due to the fact we both work during the day, and can settle your dog in over night. Our typical daily routine includes the following: Dogs are let out & fed around 6:30am. We leave the house around 7:30am and I can run home from work around mid-day to check on them if a weekday. When I return home around 3:45pm the dogs are loved-on, walked (weather permitting) & played with. Dinner time is around 5:30 then we typically hang out in the den where the dogs are checked over & given a groom if needed. A final potty break is offered at 9:30pm followed by a treat & bedtime. Weekends we are home the majority of the day and during school breaks & holidays I’m pretty much home all day. I treat your dog(s) as if it were my own. Dogs are given plenty of pets, love & snuggle time. Those that love to play are provided playtime. Exercise is provided daily. I closely monitor for ticks or injuries & keep a watch on any pre-existing conditions. I keep in close contact with you so you are well aware of anything going on. Our fence line is very secure & inspected often. We are very careful about closing doors & gates behind us to prevent escapes.

I have a busy travel schedule and for the last several years Kim has been the one I trust to watch my dog when I’m away. She’s a true professional and has been amazing with helping my reactive dog feel calm and at home with her. We happen to live in the same neighborhood and when I walk my dog anywhere near Kim’s house, she tries to pull me in that direction. There’s no doubt that she loves it there! Trusting your pet’s care to someone is a big deal, and I promise you Kim is the person you’re looking for.
