Pet care experience
I grew up on a family farm around a wide variety of animals large and small -- horses, cows, goats, chickens, dogs, cats, one big rabbit, hamsters and a guinea pig. I don't have any pets of my own at this time, but I have always had a special connection with animals and love being around them. I started pet-sitting around 2005 and have had a small group of repeat clients whose pets I watched for years. My attention to detail and emotional intuition help me provide the best of care for your pet as well as clue me in to potential problems should they arise. You can expect consistent and considerate communication from me as well as confidentiality and maturity of mindset. As you return to your home, you will be relieved to find it as you left it. I want my clients to be able to relax while away and trust that they have left their pet and home in excellent hands. I have taken care of senior, high energy animals and those with anxiety. I've administered oral medications and prepared foods for specialized diets.

Kiki was my go-to cat sitter for several years until our cat died. Kiki was extremely thoughtful and caring for our older cat, and clearly loved her. She stayed at our house when we had out-of -town plans and was very accessible when we texted her over the times she was here. Kiki also always left our house in excellent condition. We hardly knew anyone had been here while we were gone. We were sorry to lose our cat, Lucy, and are confident that Kiki will give the same kind care to other pets she cares for.

When you contact me, you can let me know what breed of animal I would be caring for, what their temperament is, if they have any special needs, allergies, or health conditions, including any specific care you would want from me, etc. It is important to know if your dog has separation anxiety or is easily stressed with change that might affect their health, eating habits or result in damage to property while you are away. How does your dog behave on leash/off leash or in the presence of other people or animals outside the home? Any outstanding information can be mentioned when you initially contact me and then further details can be discussed when we have a conversation about care prior to booking.
A typical day
I am an active person and love to spend time outdoors walking or hiking. What types of activities I would do with your animal is specific to them. I find out from you what is appropriate for your dog and that's what we do. Of course it is dependent on what service you are choosing from me, but some options are we could go for a walk around the neighborhood, maybe explore a local park, or take a longer hike on a trail in a wooded area. Sometimes we just hang out in the backyard and run around a bit if that's what works for you and your doggo, throw a toy around, perhaps sit out in the sunshine. We'll have fun together and they will get love, attention, and physical activity at whatever their level is.

Availability
I create my own schedule and can take my work on the road with me. My business allows me a lot of flexibility and time to spend with your pets. In terms of house-sitting, I am able to spend a majority of time at home. If you choose me as your sitter, please expect that I will have time away from the home and prefer pets that are fine with being unattended for up to 4 hours so that I can take care of business and personal needs. This is just an example and my care for your pet will be highly personalized to the situation and something that can be discussed over the phone or at a meet and greet. I will make sure that your pet gets a ton of special attention and if they are especially active I am definitely the person to take them with me on outdoor adventures.
