Pet care experience
Welcome to my page! My name is Ash, and I was a professional canine trainer for four years and now have a bachelors in behavioral psychology. I worked for a Veterinary hospital and grew up around animals of all sorts. I have a standard Australian Shepherd named Nova who loves play dates with properly socialized dogs that have a calmer temperament. I do care for other animals as well if need be, like birds, small animals, most reptiles, pigs, and even aquarium systems. I do not do spiders (tarantulas are becomming popular) nor scorpions or insects (example: pet roaches). Shoot me a message and we can chat and grab coffee and pupcups for the dogs sometime! I am available Monday through Friday from 2-9 pm, and most weekends. Bookings outside these hours will be a higher rate provided I am able to accept. I love my dog, Nova more than anything in the world. In my home, Nova has a crate that she sleeps in at night next to my bed. She’s out during the day playing with her toys, watching TV, and snacking with her puzzle toys. I do not allow her on furniture because we preach about not jumping on people (also as much as I love her, the shedding is intense so my bed would just be full of hair). I prefer crate trained animals as this is a safe and efficient method to dog training, but I will respect your wishes if you keep your dog differently. The most important thing to me is ensuring that your dogs routine does not change drastically, as I want you and your pet to be as comfortable as possible! I treat all animals how I would like my own to be treated, with utmost care and respect. Let me know if you have any questions! I’m an open book. I am off work each day by around 1:30-2:00PM, and am free in the evenings until around 7 or 8. I am off work weekends (just check with me because I am normally already booked or hosting a play date).
Reviews
Kiersten was amazing! This was my first time ever using a drop in home service and it was wonderful. She was very informative of everything and went above and beyond while I was away for a trip. Will definitely use her again! Thank you!!
My birthday bees were happy. I was very happy with the whole process
Kiersten was incredible! I was in the process of buying a home, moving, and commuting 2.5 hrs a day to work. She took such great care of my dogs, it was a huge relief to know they were in good hands!
Kiersten took care of my dog very well, she was understanding and very friendly. I would definitely go back?

Safety, trust & environment
I try to provide the same care that you would provide for your pet, as dogs appreciate consistency and an environment where they feel safe and at home. Many pets, especially those acquired during the pandemic, can be a bit nervous/anxious and switching things up drastically could be detrimental to their health and well-being. Therefore, I study how you treat your pet, what you allow them to do, and the environment you keep them in to attempt to replicate what they are comfortable with.

Information Kiersten A. would like to know about your pet
Temperament, especially in different situations, any possible reactivities or sensitivities towards things like other people, animals (dogs, cats, wildlife), cars, loud sounds, sirens, etc. I would also like to know if there is a medical history and if medications are used or need to be used. Please be ready to provide vaccine history at the time of drop off. I also need the name and number of your vet in case of emergency. Please be aware that there may be additional charges to your booking based on certain factors. For example, dogs that are not house trained may have up to $15 extra in fees. This fee covers clean up and I will use +R training tactics to reinforce good behavior and potty habits throughout the entire visit. I can trim nails for WELL BEHAVED dogs and cats. This would be anywhere from $10-$20 depending on the size of the animal and their behavior.
A typical day
Sniffari’s, positive interactions and exposure in public spaces (ex. Lowe’s, Hobby Lobby, etc), and sidewalk cruising. We like to go to New River Park a lot and occasionally a hike! My house is rather small/apartment sized, but I live next to the park and we play often, and I preach the importance of brain games and mental stimulation just as much, or even more, than physical exertion.
