My name is Kia. I'm a 21 year old medic in the Air Force. I've grown up with dogs. My family had a Boston terrier, German shepherd, skipper key, Japanese chin, pit bull, and chocolate lab. I also worked as a kennel technician for two years, prior to joining the Air Force, at a nationally acclaimed dog boarding/training facility. My experience there was invaluable. I learned... how to feed dogs, how to walk dogs, how to recognize dangerous behavior, how to de-escalate tense situations, how to build rapport and befriend dogs, how to safely navigate care for aggressive dogs, how to bathe dogs, how to use body language to communicate with dogs, etc. It was not unusual for me to have about 30 dogs under my supervision at a time. Although it was hard work, my passion, patience and commitment to man's best friend grew evermore.
