Khalia was incredible and provided first rate care for Pepper while we were out of town. Pepper had some stomach problems while staying with Khalia and she managed everything with perfect grace and with pepper’s health in mind. Will absolutely return to Khalia in the future and highly recommend her!

Khalia did phenomenal job with Bella. Bella had separation anxiety, Khalia made sure Bella was very comfortable and kept me updated. Khalia noticed that Bella was consuming large quantity of water and recommended taking Bella to the vet when we return. Khalia is very observant and caring.

Khalia is amazing. We have an older pup that can be grumpy at times and he had an absolute blast. Not only does Khalia safe clean places for pups to play but she also keeps you in the know by sending multiple pics a day. She was never out of touch and we felt like our pup was in good hands at all times. We will definitely be using her in the future and also inquired about day care she was so good. If you are on the fence you won’t be disappointed and your pet will be happy and loved.

Safety, trust & environment

🚨I am currently only accepting friendly, spayed/neutered and fully potty trained dogs under 30lbs with minimal to no separation anxiety. Dogs that mark, hump, or have frequent accidents are not permitted. Dogs who bark excessively, growl at other dogs, charge other dogs, nip at humans or other dogs, are counter surfers, or can be destructive to property when left alone are also not permitted. This is for the safety, cleanliness, and general well being of all the guest pets in my home. Incontinent seniors are always welcome, as long as they are comfortable wearing doggy diapers or male wraps. 🦴I specialize in caring for disabled and elderly dogs 30 lbs and under, but I also have years of experience with younger and high energy dogs 30 lbs and under. I’ve been dog sitting for 6 years as Paws and Play Pet Care LLC! 🦴With no roommates, no smoking, and no cats or children, your canine companion will have a safe space to decompress, play, and enjoy their stay. 🦴I pride myself in hosting small pack sizes (5 guest pets at a time,) only accepting docile and friendly dogs with low anxiety, and only accommodating fur friends 30lbs or less to minimize accidental mishaps between breed sizes. Your pet’s safety and comfort is my top priority! Special Skillset 🩺❤️ * Injectable medication and subcutaneous fluid administration ($7 per injection) * Assisted syringe feeding and hand feeding * Oral and topical medication administration * Palliative care * Glycaemia testing and canine insulin administration * Wound care and dressing maintenance * Medical boarding and vet visit support * Canine lymphatic massage About My Home and At Home Meet and Greets🏡* *All new clients ✨must✨ complete a complimentary meet and greet before booking, and new clients who are booking for visits over 4 nights must complete a $50 trial night. I do not accept last minute bookings from new clients. 14 hours are included in my discounted trial rate. *Though I do conduct meet and greets in front of my home; due to clauses in my pet care insurance, liability, my safety, and as not to disturb my current guest pets and pets who are healing during medical boarding (they need a sterile and serene environment,) I do not allow prospective clients inside of my home to tour at this time. I will gladly provide a video overview of the inside of my home if requested, as I know how important it is to have peace of mind and see the environment where your pet is staying. 😊 I have a 4 bedroom home and a 1500 square foot fenced backyard that’s perfect for zoomies, playtime, puppy enrichment, low-impact senior exercise, competitive games of fetch, puppy pool time during the warmer months, and unlimited belly rubs. All pets are free to sleep wherever they please, but they usually all sleep in my large downstairs bedroom with me for naps and at bedtime. I will never kennel or crate your dog unless you request it and provide a kennel or crate. All dogs enjoy their own (or my) cozy and clean bed during their stay! Medical Boarding and Palliative Care🏥 I will pick up and care for your pet after surgical procedures, administer all medications and aftercare, and chauffeur them to 2 subsequent check up visits at their vet. Please contact me directly to discuss this service, as pricing varies by distance of vet hospital, severity of procedure, and amount of aftercare. If your senior pet needs end of life care, please reach out to me directly so we can discuss how I can best serve your pet and keep them comfortable. Constant Canine Care 🕰️ For dogs who cannot be left alone for any period of time due to being seizure prone or another medical reason, my fee per night is $150+. This covers my full day of round the clock care and my assistant (another retired vet tech) who will need take over my daily tasks such as doggy drop-ins while I stay with your special needs companion. Meet and Greets🤝🐶 All new clients ✨must✨ complete a meet and greet before booking, and new clients who are booking for visits over 4 nights must complete a $40 overnight trial visit. Meet and greets are complimentary and always scheduled before a stay with a new client. This 15-30 minute visit is conducted in front of my home and allows me to observe the temperament of your pet, learn how to best serve them, and meet you face to face to answer any questions you may have about my sitting practices and my home. My job is to serve you and your pet and provide the highest level of care possible, and if I do not believe I am best suited for your fur fellow I will happily refer you to one of my sitter friends or my mentor. What to Bring🧳 Please bring your pet’s food, medications, harness and treats. I will provide water bowls, food bowls, and beds for your convenience! If your pet will be sleeping in bed with me, please ensure that they are freshly groomed so we can cuddle comfortably. If your dog prefers to sleep in a crate, please provide the crate. I will never crate your companion unless I have explicit instruction or permission to do so. Early Dropoff/Late Pickup Fees🌄 I am open 24 hours a day for your convenience, but very late or early drop offs between the hours of 11:00pm and 6:00am are an additional $40. If your dog needs to be dropped off or picked up between 6:00am-8:00am or between 9:00pm-11:00pm, an additional fee of $17 will be added onto the service prior to the booking. For owners running late to pickups, a 15 minute grace period is allotted as I know LA traffic can be severe and there are circumstances that are out of our control. However, for pickups running more than 15 minutes late, an additional fee of $15 is added for every subsequent hour. Please let me know if there is a legitimate emergency and I will try my best to accommodate you.😊 🚨Pooch Policies🚨 * Your pet must be on an active flea and tick preventative regimen to stay in my home. * Dogs who have had worms, parasites, or any infectious virus in the past 40 days are only permitted with verified vet clearance. * Your pet must be up to date on all vaccinations before their stay. This is for the safety of both your pet and other guest pets in my home. * Dogs who mark or repeatedly have accidents inside the house are not permitted. * Dogs with any forms of aggression, bite history, and extreme resource aggression are not permitted. I do not allow toys in my home due to mild resource aggression that is common in most dogs, and I feed everyone separately during mealtime, but I am not equipped to manage extreme cases. * Dogs with active diarrhea and vomiting are not permitted to stay under any circumstances unless Medical Boarding has been scheduled and the treatment plan has been discussed with myself and your veterinarian. * Though ✨mild✨anxiety may be normal for the first hour in a new environment, dogs with moderate to severe separation anxiety that cannot be left alone are unfortunately not permitted. * Dogs that scratch at doors, whine/bark for extended periods of time, or are destructive to property when left for short periods of time will also not be permitted. Normal levels of barking are absolutely fine and understandable, especially when the mailman arrives or a wayward squirrel is on the roof! However, my neighborhood is very quiet and as a courtesy, I do not want to disturb my wonderful neighbors with incessant barking. 🏪Critter Convenience Store🏪 Super Suppliments 💊 Innovet CBD oil for dogs, one dose - $8 Proviable Probiotic, one dose - $3 Natural Dog Company Topical Healing Salve, Paw Soother, or Snout Soother, 3 applications - $5 Mighty Medications💉 Medication regimens of more than 2x a day (first 2 are free) - $5 per medication Injectables and Insulin - $7 per injection Canine Café🍗 Just Food For Dogs Turkey and Rice Vet Support Diet (per meal) - $5 Just Food For Dogs Chicken and Rice Recipe (per meal) - $4 The Honest Kitchen Grain Free Beef Recipe (per meal) - $4 Blue Buffalo Beef Kibble (per meal) - $3 The Snout Spa🛁 All regular washes include a bath, blowdry, coconut oil rub down if requested, and nail trim. Special Needs and Cute Quirks? If you answered “yes” to any of the questions below, please notify me at the time of requesting a booking. These questions help me provide the highest quality of care for your canine companion. Is your dog named after a quirky behavior they do? (Example: “Houdini” because he is an escape artist, or “Speedy” because she likes to run fast.) *Does your dog have dementia, cognitive dysfunction like sundowners, or any other neurological disorders? *Does your dog have arthritis? *Is your dog blind, deaf, or both? (It’s okay, my Yorkie is too!) Does your dog have any quirky behaviors that may alarm me but would be no cause for concern? (Example: Sleep barking) Does your dog need 24 hour care? Does your dog have any allergies? Does your dog have any strict home rules that are always to be followed? Is your dog taking any medication or supplements? Is your dog up to date on flea and tick medication? Is your dog food or toy aggressive? * I will not cancel or deny your stay because of your dog’s disability. These questions are here so I can prepare my home and make sure the other guest pets booked on the same days will not stress your dog. If I am confident I can provide the most comfortable and safe environment for your special needs companion during their stay, I will always accommodate. However, I will not take risks if I don’t believe your pet will be comfortable.
