I currently have a 13 year old golden retriever who recently beat cancer but is also an older dog with plenty of other medical needs as well. We have done our very best to ensure he is properly taken care of and free of pain or discomfort. If you were to meet him you probably would not even think he is 13 years old. He has had quiet a few surgeries in which I have cared for his dressing, bandages, medications, rest, and comfort. I don't know if its my medical background but caring for the medical needs of people and dogs in general is something I love to do!
