I absolutely love and adore dogs of all shapes and sizes! I grew up with golden retrievers and currently am father to a beautiful, friendly, and exceedingly smart friendly golden sheltie named Paddington. She is my (very motherly) partner in crime, and she sets a great example for other dogs, no matter their breed or age. I’ve trained a number of dogs, including the infamously difficult Labradoodle and magnificently energetic Chocolate Lab. I do well with dogs—even difficult ones!—because I’m an excellent listener, consistently praise good behavior, issue firm, clear commands, and behave in predictable ways such that dogs easily understand what I’m expecting them to do next. Regarding dogs that may need special care: I have extensive experience caring for dogs requiring special medical attention. I’ve administered the usual oral antibiotics and topical flea meds. Additionally, I have experience performing doggy rehab/range-of-motion exercises. Nothing, and I mean nothing, bothers me about dogs with special conditions. I’m extremely patient, and I quickly recognize when a dog is sick or hurt no matter how much they try to hide it. Most importantly, though, I can’t help but show tons of affection! Dogs hold a very, very special place in my heart. There are few things I enjoy more in life—if any!
