We’d love to watch your fur-baby!

Pet care experience

Hi! My name is Kess, and my fiancé, Jon, and myself are here to help watch your dog(s) while you are away. We live in a cozy apartment in Mount Pleasant with our fur-baby, Teddy. Teddy is a neutered 4 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who loves snuggles, walks, naps, and playing with other pups! Teddy is a dog who adapts to the energy around him. If we have an older dog over, Teddy will match the older dog’s energy and snooze most of the day away. If we have a puppy here, Teddy will play with the puppy, and then sleep the whole next day after the puppy has left. He’s gets very excited to greet new dogs, but then gives the dogs space unless they initiate play. While Jon and I are new to Rover, we are far from new to dog-sitting. Through nannying, I have run into many families on Daniel Island and Mount Pleasant who have noticed my love for their pups and have asked Jon and myself to dog-sit for them while they go on trips. On top of these dog-sitting experiences, Jon and I have lots of additional experiences with dogs, both coming from families that have had a variety of dog breeds growing up. Jon and I have different schedules that allow at least one of us to almost always be home (and if we had to run an errand, Teddy is fine staying in our bedroom with the door closed to ensure the dogs are separated). We are both animal lovers and outdoorsy people, so your dog will gets lots of loving and walks while you are away! Our apartment complex has a great trail that we walk our dog on daily. There is also a dog park at our apartment complex that we take our dog to when other dogs are not utilizing it (and would only take your dog there if you tell us it’s something they’d enjoy)! If your furbaby likes car rides and the beach, we also enjoy taking our dog to IOP for sunset walks :). Being that our Teddy is very important to us, we do ask that your dog is fully vaccinated and for transparency with your dogs behaviors. Thanks for consideration, and feel free to reach out with any questions :)

Kess is an amazing sitter! She goes above and beyond to make sure my pups are taken care of. I do not like leaving my babies, but when they are with her I have complete peace of mind! Mollie & Cooper love her and always have a great time. I highly recommend Kess if you want someone who gives more than 100% when watching your pups 😊

Kess was great with Winston and sent plenty of pictures and updates! He looked like he had a lot of fun with Kess and Jonathan’s dog, Teddy.

Safety, trust & environment

Safety, trust & Environment: Being that my family has had an English Mastiff, a Newfoundland, two Standard Poodles, three Cavies, and two Tibetan Spaniels, I can promise you that even if your dog is a pretty bad leash puller, myself and Jon are used to it and we would never let your dog get away. We take extra caution leashing your pup up to go outside, as I know my biggest fear as a dog mama is my dog getting away, and we would never allow that to happen. Our apartment is always kept clean and is dog friendly to prevent your pet from ever getting into anything. We would only ever take your dog to the dog park or beach with your consent, and would only take them to the apartment’s dog park if other dogs aren’t utilizing it. Also, if you are like me and enjoy getting pics of your dog while you are away, I’m happy to send pup pics your way so that you can see how much your dog is enjoying their stay!

Information Kess & Jonathan T. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if your dog has special needs or behaviors that we will need to account for. Being that both myself and Jon are in the medical field, I am certain that if you demonstrate how to administer certain medications to your pet, we can accommodate. While I have a lot of experience with dogs, I am uncomfortable watching dogs with aggressive tendencies. I am also not comfortable watching dog breeds that are known to have aggressive tendencies. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out!

A typical day

Describe a typical day: The first thing we typically do with Teddy and any visiting dog is take them on a walk. If your dog is a leash puller, we will be walking them separately from Teddy to ensure proper control and safety during the walks. After walks comes breakfast. The dogs will be fed in separate rooms. Following breakfast usually the dogs play and snooze as at least one of us works from home. Before lunch, the dogs go out again for walks. Once work is completed for the day, the dogs go on their longer walk around the trail, at the beach, or to the dog park to run around (should no other dogs be using it). If the dogs eat dinner, this is typically next. Before bed the dogs are walked again. More walks and feeding times can be accommodated into the schedule as needed.
