Growing up, my family bred AKC Golden Retrievers. I cannot remember a time when we didn't have dogs around! I was the kid that brought injured animals home and nursed them back to health. It was not a surprise to anyone when I started in animal rescue about 12 years ago. I began with training and rehabilitating former fighting dogs, and then moved on to being an Animal Control Officer. Last year I started a non-profit pet food pantry. I make my own hours, which allows me the flexibility to work with Rover! I am certified in both Canine CPR and First aid, and I have shelter medicine training (IV/meds, shots, special needs animal care, etc.) I am currently pursuing multiple certifications at the Animal Behavior Institute, in Advanced Canine Training and Animal Assisted Therapy. For puppies/training, I use positive reinforcement/reward based training to help improve your dog's command obedience, recall, and manners. I do not believe in aversive training techniques, nor will I use a shock collar or choke collar (yes, I've had people request it.) I also offer add-ons like trips to the doggie bath, nail trims, training services, transportation to grooming appointments, and puppy socialization activities.
