I am a dog person to the bone; I grew up around dogs in Montana and have been dog and cat sitting for friends and others for most of my adult life. I also have experience in studying animal behavior and am good at observing dog behavior in particular. I am capable of managing new relationships between dogs and other animals. I am comfortable taking care of any breed and have flexibility in my schedule to accommodate most needs. I am also comfortable with taking care of animals with special needs or medical conditions and I have a vehicle large enough to transport even the biggest dogs in the event of an emergency. Kenzie was great with Lucy. Left Lucy for a week and was super nervous to leave her for that long. Kenzie provided lots of updates and pictures of Lucy. I loved that Kenzie asked for emergency contact information and had us meet her in advance so we could make sure Lucy and her pup got along. Definitely recommend Kenzie!

I live in an upstairs apartment with a fenced yard (no elevator). There are lots of dogs in my neighborhood and nearby parks to run around in.

Beyond typical information (e.g., food schedule, meds or supplements, toys, behavioral quirks...), I also like to have a contact in town, if possible, in case of emergency, and to know which vet they typically go to. For new clients, I will also insist on a meet and greet with both pets to get a feel for how they get along. Returning clients are welcome to drop-off right away.
A typical day
I have lots of toys and bones in my home for my dog and a fenced yard for running around and playing. I would be happy to work on training during their stay if your pup is working on certain skills.

Availability
I am a graduate student so I have flexibility in my schedule on most days to work from home or stop by frequently. My own dog, Ezra (in my photos with big ears, white with brindle markings), is a tri-pawd amputee and is friendly with other dogs and cats. Ezra roams around freely during the day if I have to be away and I never leave him alone longer than 8 hrs.
