Pet care experience
I've been caring for dogs in various settings for a number of years now. I spent 3 years as a special service volunteer at a rescue in Waco, Texas. I also have two dogs of my own, a 3 year old crazy Aussie who loves to meet new dogs almost more than me and a sweet 2 year old lab who would prefer to stay in and have all the cuddles. I frequently dog sit for family and friends when they need it!

I have a fenced yard on a quiet street that my own pups have never escaped. I typically let my dog have full range of the home and the furniture, but try to be conscious of things that are left out because they are chewers and sock thieves. I plan to carry this over to my care of others' pets! All you have to do is let me know if your pet has a proclivity for certain habits that you would want me to help them avoid. I try to do my best to adjust my environment to the unique needs of each dog or cat that I’m caring for.

I need to know if your dog or cat is reactive, needs special care, or is an escape artist. Are they excited jumpers or nervous around new people and other animals? Knowing their personality ahead of time will help me prepare a plan to make sure your pet is as safe and comfortable with me as they are when they're at home with you.
A typical day
I typically like to take the dogs I care for on at least one walk a day during the week, this includes my drop-in pets (of course, this is completely owner preference!). On the weekends, I often take my boarding dogs on a walk in the morning and the evening around a nearby park to get some good sniffs and fresh air. I have also taken some of my boarding dogs on short hikes in Mohawk Park in the past! If it's warm out, I will set up a kiddie pool in the backyard and let the pups play in the water and fetch tennis balls. When it's cold, we snuggle on the couch and play with some treat puzzles and other toys inside.

Availability
I am currently a 3rd year medical student, so my schedule can be a little variable at times. I am available most days to drop in on your furry friend in the afternoons/evenings and occasionally in the mornings! I am home full-time on the weekends for those who need someone to keep a closer eye on their dogs/cats while they're away.
